Great, Long Lasting Strings!!

By fivesixonesk8er

from Palm City, FL

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

I was using Ernie Ball's before one day picking up these, and noticing a HUGE difference in the Tone and Durablity. These stings last 10X longer than the Ernie Ball's I was using and have been using them for 4+ years. Would recomend them to ANYONE!

Bigger sound

By Paul

from Saint Paul, MN

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

Many of us love 10-46 guage strings. Some of us know that heavier strings would give a bigger sound. A few of us have tried 11s and didn't think the difference was worth the discomfort. These strings are between 10 and 11, and I barely noticed a difference in the feel. But I did notice a difference in the sound. Not a huge difference, but great tone comes from 2 dozen small gains. I am using these exclusively now.

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

I have used these strings for over 7 months now, and I can say these strings last long and have great tone. I feel these strings are much better than even DR Strings. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Unique hybrid size

By Chris

from Dirty Jersey

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been using .010's on my Fenders for years, but felt that they aren't strong enough for my Gibsons (339 and LP). These strings helped me bridge the gap between .010's and .011's. The difference is that the 1st, 2nd and 6th strings are slightly thinner than what you get in a pack of .011's. Solid tone - not too bright, not too dark. Very even wear. Now if only they came in a 3-pack...

D'Addario EXL110+ strings

By Mike

from Upland, CA

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

I play in a couple of bands and frequently tune a half step down. On my normally-tuned guitars I use D'Addario EXL 110 strings. On the D#-tuned guitars, the 10-46 set would get a bit floppy, especially when in drop-D tunings (OK, drop-C#!). I've tried sets with an 11 top string, but they're just too stiff for soloing. This set runs from .0105 - .048. When tuned down a half step, they end up a hair stiffer than a 10-46 set, but overall fit the bill very well. I've used those "light top-heavy bottom" sets and they just aren't balanced like these have turned out to be. If you tune down and play with a heavy hand like I do, you'll be happy.

Excellent tone

By Chris

from Marlton, NJ

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been playing D'Addario strings exclusively for the last 10+ years. I've preferred them because they have a nice, warm tone and stay in tune. I use .010s for all my Fender guitars, but the .010s felt just a little too light on my ES-339 and Les Paul Traditional. I didn't want to lose bendability by going to .011s, but I found these while trolling on this website. I find these to be absolutely perfect. They add a warmth and depth that was missing and fill out my sound. I would recommend these to any player with a strong hand OR to a player looking to build fretting strength.

Finally, a string size that works for me!

By John Palasek

from Yaphank, NY

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been saying for years that I wished someone would make a string set with the bottom end of a set of 10's but with a just a little more hair on the top end. I love these strings! I play Blues, Jazz and some Funk and regular 10's always seem to be too thin on the 1st and 2nd string but 11's feel too much like bending a small cable. These strings feel perfect. No problem bending at all AND the 1st and 2nd strings no longer sound like amplified rubber bands! I believe that I have found my strings!

Great tone

By Michael B Gaglione

from Colorado Spings, CO

Comments about D'Addario EXL110+ XL 010 Electric Guitar Strings:

Find 11s to heavy and 10s to light, try these strings. I have used Ernie Ball for 16 years and these are the first strings that I like better. The tone is awesome and that lil' bit more really feels good under the fingers. I can't say enough about the tone. I discovered these by accident as I bought a a custom made off brand Tele and the builder strung these on it, I was blown away and bought some for my other guitars. My Strat came to like with these on it. You can't go wrong ,get a set and see for your own ears!
