My first set of D'Addarios...

Comments about D'Addario EXL110 Nickel Wound Light Electric Guitar Strings Single-Pack:

And I can't lie, I'm pretty disappointed. I bought one pack of these at my local GC exactly one week ago today, having used other brands in the past. By no means am I a brand snob, so I decided to give these a shot. In the seven days that I've had them, I've played around 2-3 hours a day on average consisting of mostly practice. I have pretty oily skin and sweaty hands, and it's caused these strings to full-on rust already. I know that these aren't coated or treated strings, but I've had experiences with other brands that hold up better and last longer with my skin. And with rust, comes a dulling in the overall tone of the strings, which I also wasn't a fan of (they weren't as bright as I would prefer, and sounded a bit muddy through my amp). Even though there are plenty of cons in my opinion, these strings do have a pretty good feel (pretty slinky and easily bendable [standard tuning, 24.75" scale] with little finger drag) and they tune easily, staying in tune once you take the time to break them in. I'm not going to be one of those stereotypical reviewers who berates a company and says their product is terrible. They played well, but the durability and tone just weren't for me.

Long Lasting Strings

By Michael Wong

from Boston, MA

Comments about D'Addario EXL110 Nickel Wound Light Electric Guitar Strings Single-Pack:

I've had these strings on my guitar for about a month before one of the strings broke, and they aren't even reinforced for tremolo bridges.

Probably What You're Playing Anyway, If You Like What You're Playing

By John

Comments about D'Addario EXL110 Nickel Wound Light Electric Guitar Strings Single-Pack:

They last longer, they're dependable, and they are easy to find whatever town you're in. The colored ball-ends help you switch out on the fly in poor lighting conditions. I've flirted with other brands, but these are MY strings. I noticed too, that when you go into those small, specialty guitar shops, like the one's that are authorized to do Warranty work on Fender Custom Shop Guitars...You know, the shops where ALL the guitars are over A Thousand Dollars...They usually only carry a few brands of strings, and every time I've seen, D'Addario's one of them(for electric guitar strings anyway). FYI, D'Addario is one of the few companies that ACTUALLY MANUFACTURE STRINGS (they make OEM for some of the other brands out there)

Comments about D'Addario EXL110 Nickel Wound Light Electric Guitar Strings Single-Pack:

I had factory Gibson strings with my guitar purchase and there was always a twang with the high E string. I installed these EXL110 (0.010 at top) and the guitar (Gibson SG) sounded great. No more twang and nice feel. Strings were good for at least 2 months, playing about 3 times a week..
