  • No Problems Here...

As reviewed by Brian Henneman on 5/21/2014

I put a set of these on my guitar on April 7th. It is now May 21st. They're still on there, and they STILL seem fresher than a brand new set of EXL110s. I'm in a touring band, and have played a LOT of gigs on these strings in the past weeks. Intentionally trying to see how long they'll last. I've had NO problems whatsoever. They stretched out in record time, and I rarely have to tune them. Your mileage may vary, but I'm gettin' the best mileage I ever got out of ANY strings. I've been doin' this thing for over 20 years now, and these are the best strings I've ever used. Wanted to hate them, because of their price, but they're actually saving me money, 'cause they last 6 times longer that what I usually get out of a set of strings. And counting. I haven't changed them YET...

  • Horrible Strings

As reviewed by brad tolliver on 5/16/2014

I bought these strings along with a set of the new Ernie Ball M-Steel strings, and did a shootout on both my Strats and Les Paul guitars. These we're not even in the same ballpark, and I actually found that my strings we're continuously slipping on both the E and B string. My experiences we're opposite of what Daddario claims in their advertisements. A night and day difference in tone, my band actually asked if my volume or amp settings changed when I switched back to the EB strings. Sorry Daddario, these are not for me.

  • Great strings, but overpriced at $12/set

As reviewed by Neil Franks on 5/10/2014

I'm surprised by the negative reviews from Brad Tolliver and Matt Goetz. They mentioned serious tuning issues, but my experience with these strings have been the complete opposite. I only need to stretch these strings three or four times after putting them on, and they are amazingly stable, even with extreme bends. The strings sound great, with a bit more midrange punch than typical round-wound nickel-plated steel string. Strength seems good, and although I don't play that hard and rarely break strings, I did purposely put these through some pretty heavy abuse and they took it like a champ. A month and around 60 hours of play later, they still feel and sound like brand new. These are definitely the longest-lasting non-coated strings I've ever tried. The only issue I have with these strings is the price. $11.99 for uncoated strings is just ridiculous. If they were $8 - $9 a set, these would replace my D'Addario balanced tension XL strings ($5.49 a set) as my "go-to" set.
