Trombone Blessing 6 1/2 AL ranks very high

By James Bragonier

from Fort Collins, Colorado

Comments about Blessing Trombone Mouthpieces with Small Shank:

On my equipment, I would rank the Blessing 6 1/2 AL trombone mouthpiece equivalent to my twenty-three year old Bach 7 mouthpiece. I found the Blessing to be be responsive, comfortable, full toned and consistent throughout my range from pedal tone E to high F. Objectively, the finish is smoother and polished in the cup, free of tool marks, and fully silver plated. And the throat of the Blessing ls very slightly rounded to the bottom of the cup. I don't know if that is intentional, but it is very easy to develop a very full, round tone on my old '65 Olds Ambassador trombone, which I use for practice. Its even better on my professional horns. Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised by the high polish and finish quality of the mouthpiece. I believe that for students and advance players, the Blessing mouthpiece can provide a very pleasurable, productive, playing experience.
