Warranty
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. Specific models under this warranty include all SRM, HD, SA, C and S Series Speakers, all FRS Amplifiers, all HRmk2 Studio Monitors. A 1-year, all inclusive, nontransferable warranty applies to all mixers, MR Studio Monitors, Control Surfaces, Processors (digital), MR Studio Monitors, Control Surfaces, Audio/MIDI Interfaces, other SR & Recording Products. Specific product models under this warranty include all Onyx Compact, 4-bus and 8-bus, all VLZ3, all PPM, all ProFX, all CFXmk2 Mixers, all MR Studio Monitors, Big Knob, Onyx 800R, all MCU Pro family. This cabinet is a staple, you can not go wrong unless you are in an acoustic band, in which case you will get fired for being too loud and taking up too much realestate. These cabinets sound great and that is why they are a familiar sight in many pro backlines. The cabinet is heavy, but worth the work. If you gig regular, the tolex WILL rip, black gaff tape or a razor and some black spray paint will get you straight, and from the audience, no one will know the difference. If you need a serious pro rock bass cabinet, this is THE cabinet.

soo...i got the 810 cab. but...i'm not quite certain i am impressed by it. i originally had a 4x10 and 1x15 stack. which i believed was exactly the perfect tone. but i was convinced to trade in for this enclosure. what a huge disappoint. the mid range is all there. and...the high are well carried. however...the low end is not very present or represented at all. i have a couple different third parties effects attempted to regain the low end representation...but still fall shy of achieving it. soo...if i were you...i would look into getting something with a little more versatility and variety. ampeg makes great products...so maybe just wait until they make a 4x10, 1x15 full stack cab. as for now...anyone want to buy my 8x10 enclosure?

I did the math...

By JOE

from Rural Illinois

I did the math, it takes 3.55 fifteen inch speakers to push as much air as eight 10 inch speakers. Radius of a 10" = 5". 5" squared = 25, times pi (3.14)= 78.5 square inches. Times 8 ten inch speakers = 628 sq. inches. Now a 15 inch speaker equals (7.5 x 7.5) x 3.14 = 176.62 sq inches. 176.62 times 4 (speakers) = 706.5 sq. inches, MORE than 8 ten inch speakers. 78.5 square inches more. I'm not a sound engineer, so maybe there's more to it than just the area of speaker sizes? I am an analyst. That being said, I own a CL head and a SVT 410HLF cab and am very impressed. Someday I'd like to get an 810 cab too. Ampeg makes good stuff. I'm sure I'd like the 810HE cab too. Thanks.

This is power

By LISA VALENTICH

from Anaheim California

So I purchased this along with an Ampeg SVT-3PRO series head (Check out my review on that)last month and I am nothing less than 100% satisfied. Also I play a Fender Jazz Amercian Standard bass. This cab is SO clean sounding. It's SO loud! Like really, really loud. The lows that come out of this cab have an exceptionally clear tone that no matter how loud I take it the sound never distorts. The highs are SO clean and crispy sounding. The Mid's, of boy am I happy with the mid's. With previous amps I've used I've always had trouble finding an amp or cab with a Mid range that sounded just as good as the Lows and Highs. This one has it! The Mid's along with the highs and lows make this one great cab to have. A must have actually. I play occasionally at a rehearsal studio and play with the bass gear they have there. I don't remember exactly the name but it was definitely was a Carvin head and Cab. All I can say is "Night and day". I totally understand all the hype behind this cab. It's a classic and a standard for a reason. I do want to mention that every since I got this I have been blowing away my guitarist, who typically was always a bit louder than me. Not anymore. I find him constantly adjusting his amp trying to keep up with the loudness and clarity that this cab produces. It is pricey, but trust me, YOU ARE PAYING FOR QUALITY! Absolutely worth it, especially if you're a bass player that's getting pretty serious about your sound. I played nothing but combo amps for the past five years and going from combo amps to an Ampeg set up is like going from a VW bug to a Ferrari. AMPEG IS KING!

BEST 1000 dollars

By Brett

from Jackson

this thing is the best enclosure ive ever played out of, it gives you that classic ampeg sound that everybody leaves. when you watch a music video, what cab do you see? .....THIS ONE because it IS the best. and whoever said that the tone of a 1x15 and 4x10 is better, how are you gunna use that live ? when the two different speaker sizes create the notes at different requencies. from 40 feet away you will hear the 4x10 first and then he 1x15 after. Im pretty sure that isnt what you want.

The apex of bass cabinet evolution!

By Geojett

from Florence, KY

I have been playing the bass guitar for over 40 yrs and have seen many amp/cabinets come and go. Some didn't disappear quickly enough while some should still be with us (where, oh where are you my missing SUNN???). History does have one constant that always seems to turn out right. That constant is that the "best" always survives the test of time. This cabinet, the AMPEG 8X10HE, is one of those survivors. It, along with the SVT 300 watt amp head, are the most recorded amp/cab pair on this planet! How can so many musicians over a period of 50 yrs be wrong? Answer, they're not! I have lusted after this cabinet since it went into production. Now that I am playing through it I can't believe that I didn't get it decades ago. THIS THING ROCKS. One drawback. Now, as my 60th B-day approachs in a few yrs this cabinet seems to be putting on weight faster than its owner! So, if you don't mind getting your workout just moving this monster from studio to gig and back then this is the top of the food chain. Once you have it you can't trade or buy "up" any more....YOU HAVE ARRIVED. BTW, if you are wondering if your 3 or 4--15" speakers are louder than this..., think again. Do the math. It takes SIX... as in 6.. 15" speakers to match the 8x10HE in the ability to move air... or 4--18" speakers. Plug in and let's ROCK!!!

Good But Not Great.

By MikeSeaCaptain

from New Jersey

this is really powerful.... IF YOU HAVE A POWERFUL HEAD!!!!!!!! Im using a mesaboogie bigblock 750 through mine and its really good, powerful, and loud. just the quality isnt as good as the mesa boogie powerhouse 4x10. If you have the money to get a mesa 6x10 or 8x10 i say go with that. but that may make a huge dent in your wallet.

Bring the Thunder with this cabinet!

By Mike Irish

from Boise, ID

If you want to make crowds scream, you need this cabinet. I've taken mine through hell and back and it just asks for more abuse. These are the rhythm sections secret weapon. Thundering lows and enough punch to level Ali.

WOW WHAT A CAB!!!

By Fender84

from Troy, MI

I've always dreamed of owning one of this bad boys and now I finally got one!! And it is simply amazing I paired it with the Ampeg SVT 450H Classic Series head and it was like a match made in heaven. I used Hartke's and Gallien Krueger's in the past and they didn't even come close to the wall of sound that the Ampeg produces! I love the stero feature on the cab where you can run this cab as two 410's, it really gives you a big beefy sound that shakes the whole house!! I've finally found the rig that I'm going to use and I'm not going to use anything else but AMPEG!!
