I got this almost a year ago, and it wasn't long before I started getting distortion and 'rattling'. I had other cabs, and was too busy to really dig into it at the time, but recently I took one of the speakers out (I'd read 'Acoustic' had a reputation for poor wire connections to their speakers in other models). What I found was, it was held in place by mostly bolts, but for at least four of them, regular wood screws were used! Once I removed them, they never did go back in tightly, and I plan to retrofit with threaded bolts and fittings. Really, Acoustic? did you save 30-40 cents per speaker using those wood screws? NOT a good sign, and I still don't know why it sounds like a wet diaper.

  • Best cabinet of the bunch for the money.

This little cabinet is big on bottom end plus great mids and highs. I matched this to the Accoustic® 300HD power head and it will fill any bar or church in the world. It can be smooth as silk for the Jazz or blues man or rough and nasty for the rock player, and it can swing with any country group out there. From slap bass to country riffs, this cabinet will do it all. If you need more, then plug another cabinet together and really crank it up. I have 50 years of bass experience in all forms of styles. I have owned over 20 different amps and cabinets and I truly like this setup. (I didn't like the Fender Rumble all that well)

I have looked at many cabinets for my Mesa M# Carbine. None seemed to have a decent sound. I tried this one on a whim, and it is perfect. Good highs, clear, not muddy bottom is out standing. Fits this amp perfectly.

First I would like to say that the cabinet sounds good. I am pushing it with an Ampeg SVT3PRO head which is rated at 450 watts @4 ohms, but only 275 watts @ 8 ohms which is what this cabinet is rated at. The 8 ohms I mean not the 275 watts. I cranked the master volume all the way up and the preamp volume about 3/4 of the way up and it could handle everything I threw at it. The only problem that I noticed was the fact that the horn is either on or off, there is no volume control for the horn. (what do you expect from a cheaper cabinet?) To go along with this problem is the fact that there is almost no distinction between the horn being on or off. When I first bought the cabinet I thought there was something wrong with it, so I took it back to the store and with the help of a sales associate we learned that if you turn up the volume then you can start to hear the difference in the horn, but still its a mild difference. I was a little disappointed, but I chose to keep the cabinet for now because it was affordable, but if and or when I can afford a better cabinet I will do that. With all of that said I think its a good cabinet to start out with.

I picked up this cab on sale..i cant say enough good things. Its lightweight..powerful..punchy..very loud. I was not sure at first but when it went on sale i figured i would snag one. I am glad i did..incredible cab! Hooked it up and was immediately impressed with the tone and solidity of the cab itself. Kudos acoustic! The only tiny tiny problem with it is the tweeter is either on or off..no dial. That..to me is a very minor issue. Grab one! they are fantastic.

  • Better than I expected, top quality build
