Love it

Another reviewer had complained about it giving off a hiss. Perhaps he got a bad unit because, my entire rack (12 pieces) is dead quiet. 31 band EQ is just right, and it does not cheasify the tone even remotely. If you need 2 channel EQ I would not recommend getting anything else. price/performance ^^b thumbs up.

A great tool for live applications

This unit is almost identical to the 15 band version except that it has 31 bands providing the user with even more control. I enjoyed my 15 band unit so much that I purchased this unit for my church. The unit has been an excellent addition to our sound booth. I immediately noticed that we could gain better vocal performances by eliminating unwanted frequencies while in the meantime shaping the tone to properly fit the room. I have not had the unit for a long time yet, but so far it has been very reliable and easy to use.

Works well, but NOISEY!

Purchased one of these in 5/07. It's a good simple unit. I wanted a good EQ with none of these extra add-ons. The unit is of solid construction and feels good to use. HOWEVER, it's biggest let down is the fact it adds hiss in to my signal path, exactly the same as another review stated. I've tried different leads, different ins/outs on my desk and have concluded it's the DBX231 that's hissing away. Would be fine for a loud band, but avoid for speech / quiet music. Considering ditching mine.

O.K. if you don't mind the hiss.

Just got this for my church and we are sending it to the back shelf. There is a white noise hiss constantly distracting everyone that is trying to listen to the pastor. This unit is ok for high noise environments (live shows in clubs) but if you need something for a quieter space (like a church) get something else.
