  • Superb set of drums

As reviewed by Clayton on 7/27/2014

This is a wonderful playing kit. The heads are the most realistic of any that are out there. Very responsive and just a blast to play.

  • GREAT Kit!!

As reviewed by KEN SCHICK on 6/26/2013

This kit is everything it is described to be and more. I had read reviews on other sites that said there was a slight delay, but to me this feels like playing any standard drum kit. Great response, and the many available "voices" make it easy to customize the sound of every pad/cymbal. Only one BAD thing to say...... The pictures show this kit with a dual kick pedal. None of the kits come with even one kick pedal, so you will have to purchase seperately. Very satisfied.

  • Awesome improvement over previous models

As reviewed by D Scott on 11/30/2014

I purchased the DTX Extreme III several years ago and enjoyed it for several years. I was frustrated with it for a number of reasons including the small number of "real" sounding kits preloaded, and the great difficulty building user kits. Yamaha has made great strides in both of these areas with MANY "real sounding" kits and great ease with which you can change the songs of various pads and even adjust various settings on the pads. I agree with another review which stresses the quality of the drum "heads". They are so much easier to play than the previous all rubber heads, very comparable to an acoustic kit. Roland fanatics will never agree, but this has to be right up there with the Roland kits of the same price point. Since I already had a Yamaha, I wanted to be able to use some of my old cymbal pads to expand my new kit which worked quite well. The trigger module does have some expansion capabilities which fit my desires. I am quite happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it.
