I am a very practical when it comes to use of equipment. I feel that it is very important to isolate power to individual pedals and to protect them from harmfull surges. This piece of gear not only does that, it also tucks up under my Pedaltrain pedal board very nicely! I feel so much more comfortable using this instead of daisy chaining! I also don't have to make my Boss OD-20 share power with other pedals. By the way, the version that I purchased came with 90 degree plugs on both ends of the adapters.
I just started puting a pedalboard together within the past month. I am now up to 7, with two more on the way. I had purchased a Godlyke Power all because of the good reviews and the great price. The only problem are the ground loops. I unfortunately had an obnoxious hiss that I couldn't stand. I decided to try the Pedal Power 2+, and I'm glad I did. There is added noise from my pedal chain. With humbuckers, the signal is dead silent, and the same with my Strat in the 2 & 4 positions.
This power supply is very versatile and well built. The voltage sag is a nice feature for fuzz pedals. I also found out that a special cable can be purchased to split a single output into two, without the posibility of a ground loop. If you think this can only power eight 9v pedals, think again.
The only thing I wish this little box had would be some little mounting tabs or some mounting brackets to attach it to the underside of my home made pedal board.
A nifty little unit that can provide power to most small pedals, but don't get fooled by the specs, it is not going to do too well with digital hogs such as the TC Nova pedals and other exotics. Two of its outputs claim to be switchable to 12 volt DC, but their wattage drops below the point of most units rating, making that voltage essentially useless... I give it a 5 star for quality of construction and cool looks, but for the price, one would expect a bit more bang! Also, it is important to note that unlike the "brick" by Dunlop, you can't take this one out to countries which use different voltages without the need of an extra AC transformer. But for the local warrior on a budget, this Voodoo Lab PS looks like it's going to last forever!
