I purchased this as a karaoke machine, but it is soooo much more. We basically use it as an entertainment system at our lake house. I play both acoustic and electric guitar and this is a perfect system to practice and do friends and family gigs with. You can input two instruments and two mics, or 4 of each. Each channel has a bass and treble effect that can be turned on or off and adjusted. Between songs we input the computer and do karaoke. If someone brings a disk to sing too...just pop it in. During the daytime it has a input for mp3 and it can play dvd's to your t.v. Good quality machine. If your looking to move up from a wal-mart karaoke machine and your a musician that likes to practice or play at home you can't go wrong with this machine. It can also save you money and time because you can leave your amp at home and kill two birds with one stone. I did add external speakers because I wanted to spread the sound out when used outside but that was a personal preference. Going on a year with no problems. Hope it holds up. Love it.
