  • Vic Firth Steve Smith Sticks

As reviewed by Kemon Hackman on 4/20/2011

These sticks are awesome. I haven't been playing the drums long but Vic firth is the only stick I trust. These sticks have such a great feel to them and are very durable. I highly recommend the steve smith's, only other sticks i use are the steve gadd's

  • Surprising stick

As reviewed by Greg on 8/20/2014

I have actually been using a longer stick such as the Dejohnette Sig., but have not been crazy about the tear drop tip. After occasionally getting comments from my bandmates that the volume was a little too much for some of the small venues that we play, I started searching for a smaller stick with a more articulate tip. I bought these to try out due to the beefy shoulder, and the elongated round tip to see how they felt and sounded on my cymbals. Also, they are not painted like many signature sticks which is a plus. At first, on the pad I didn't care to much for them although my cymbals sounded great with this tip...very full and articulate. Im not used to the thinner handle and shorter length because I have larger hands, but after repeated practice sessions and using them on the gig, I am really liking them, and think that these may be my "go to stick" for everything. I am finding that I have more freedom to play harder without being afraid that the volume is too loud, and the feel of the beefier shoulder is great. My cymbals sound so different with this tip that I think Im going to buy more. A very surprising and great stick.
