My guitar instructor recommended these strings...they are 3 times more expensive than other strings I've used-worth every penny. Sound amazingly bright and stay in tune...

I never thought I would spend this much for a set of strings but these are very well made I've never seen strings like this. I wanted them to put on a Gibson AJ acoustic with a Korina body. Korina can be a little bright before the wood opens and warms up. These strings seem to have warmed the tone a tad and sound beautiful I'm very happy with them and would buy them again. I would try em' out if you have a high end guitar.

              Best in class

Comments about Thomastik SB112 Spectrum Bronze Acoustic Strings Medium-Light:

Hands down the best guitar strings for tone quality. Out performs Elixirs by far, but it probably won't last as long. Thomastik is a relatively unknown guitar string brand, as most are more accustomed to Elixir, Martin, D'Addario, etc. Thomastik is better known for their violin/viola/cello/bass strings. In fact, it's one of the better companies, second to Pirastro. (D'Addario is known as bottom of the barrel in the violin world.) I gave Thomastik a try because I'm familiar with their violin strings, and I'm glad I did. Thomastik had done a much better job at producing guitar strings than Martin, Elixir, Ernie Ball, and every guitar string I've tried. When I put on a new set of Spectrum strings, I noticed there's no metallic sound of new strings. The sound is warm across all strings, even the top 2 strings. The string material varied within the set, from round wound, to flat would, to bronze-coated steel. Thomastik apparently chose the material that they felt were best suited for a certain string. I have higher end guitars made from select Rosewoods, and I like hearing the beautiful tone of the woods. These strings let me do that. There is no metallic sound to cloud the woodtones. I've demo'd various Taylor guitars (Taylors have Elixirs factory installed) and there's usually a metal sound masking all their high end guitars. What a waste! Put on Thomastik if you love brazilian rosewood. I've been using this set for about 3 weeks now, playing sporadically, and there's no sign of rust on any of the strings yet. I also use the Dunlop string cleaner sold on Music123, however.
