Technics redesigned the stator by removing the iron core to eliminate cogging, then optimized the rotor magnets and stator gap to equal the SL-1200MK5's torque. Advanced Motor Control Enables Precise Adjustments

The SL-1200M7B utilizes cutting-edge motor control technology to ensure peak performance for normal playback as well as scratching and back-cueing. An on-board microcomputer gives you total control over the motor with individual adjustment of starting torque and brake speed. The pitch control function provides ±8%/±16% rotation speed for accurate, steady pitch control thanks to improved digital tracking and precision.
