The perfect snare!!

By Daniel

from Indianapolis, Indiana

Comments about Tama Mike Portnoy Melody Master Signature Steel Snare:

I've been playing drums for about 4 years now and i decided to upgrade to this snare from my pearl because I needed a little more sound in my drumming and this snare definitely gave me what I wanted. It has a great bang with the full snare on and when it's halfway on you still get a good sound in between. And if the sound doesn't blow you away, knowing that you have a great Tama drum designed with the famous Mike Portnoy is awesome. All in all it is the perfect snare at a great price. I definitely recommend this to drummers of all skill levels.

Awesome Snare!!!

By Daniel

from Southern California

Comments about Tama Mike Portnoy Melody Master Signature Steel Snare:

I've owned 3 snares since i started drumming 2 1/2 years ago. The 1st was a Remo snare, the 2nd a Pearl Firecracker, and the 3rd, this snare. The first time I played this snare, I instantly loved the sound I was getting. It has a really great snap when both levers are locked into place, and a great rattle when only one lever is locked in place. I would fully recommend this snare to anyone interested in a smaller steel snare that doesn't want to pay too much. It's fully worth it in every way!

Comments about Tama Mike Portnoy Melody Master Signature Steel Snare:

I have own the Tama MP125 for 5 years it's a good all around snare and very versatile. The features are great. The projection and dynamic range are great, nice crack but lack volume on rim clicks. Great for gospel and fusion. Its durable but 4 heavy music please go for the MP1455.

I Cannot Compliment This Snare Enough

By liquidmetaltheater

Comments about Tama Mike Portnoy Melody Master Signature Steel Snare:

I had always been more of a maple snare fan. I absolutely ADORE the sound of maple. But, then I played this snare drum. I couldn't believe the amazing projection, tonal quality and even the bite that this snare had. I had wanted to get a new snare to go with my starclassic maple set, but was scared off by the prices of the maple, so I purchased this thinking I'd replace it with a maple later, but I was INSTANTLY silenced from the second I hit this amazing drum. In fact, the first show I played with it, EVERY other drummer at the show came up to me after I played and told me that my snare sound was one of the best they had ever heard. THANK YOU, MIKE PORTNOY AND TAMA!!!
