These work great. I am a very hard hitter and these stay in place.What you have to be careful with is putting them on upside down, easy to do then they will fly off every time.
These Quick-Set Cymbal Mates originally came with my new Tama Roadpro stands and they just don't hold up under heavy playing. I play hard rock and jazz and although I don't hit hard as often as a metal player, I come down hard when it's time to play heavy. Just one heavy hit will send these things flying. If you buy the new Tama Roadpro stands, spend the extra $$ (for a pair) of Tama's Nylon T-Nuts, which have been around for at least 10 years. Now THOSE will take serious beating.
I thought this would be a really good,really helpful cymbal mate. Because I play metal, I hit the cymbals twice as hard. Every time I would hit it, it would fly off and the cymbal would lean towards the bottom. I suggest this to rock, pop, jazz, and every other genre except for metal.
