The Takamine TAN16C is a dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar that reflects the Takamine touch in full measure. The TAN16C cutaway guitar's solid spruce top is highly resonant thanks to scalloped bracing. The back is solid rosewood which gives this guitar tonal warmth. Cosmetic touches such as an abalone rosette, gold tuners with amber pearl buttons, tortoise pickguard, body binding, and a clean fretboard give the Takamine TAN16C a visual elegance that matches its brilliant acoustic tone. A Cool Tube onboard tube preamp with bass, treble, semi-parametric mid, an aux source input with blend control, and a chromatic tuner offer warm acoustic tone that's very tweakable.   • Sweet Singing Sound

    This guitar doesn't just play...it sings! I compared it to Taylor, Martin, Alvarez, Guild, and many others before buying. The action allows for endless hours of enjoyment. The string seperation is perfect for finger style, flat pick, or strumming. The neck width is average, not to wide or narrow. I matched this guitar against others that were three times the cost and those guitars did not compare in any facet. The onboard elctronics are put together well and put out the warmest sound I have ever heard from an amped acoustic. The different tonal options allow for a lot of flexibilty in sound. I was worried a little as I orderd this guitar on line and purchased it sight unseen...(this exact one.) I did play one localy before buying only to find out it was sold the next time I went in to test drive it. I could not recomend this guitar more.

    Worth paying for it. Have this guitar for a week and like it. Great sound. I was planning to get cheaper model but after I tried this guitar decided to buy it. Highly recommended guitar.

    I bought this guitar online 2 years ago, I needed to invest on a good guitar for my band and I made online research for months. In my country (Costa Rica in Central America) there is a Takamine retailer but they only have the cheaper models. I wanted one with the cool tube preamp and decided to buy this one without even trying one, I think mine is the only here hehe. When it came I was surprised: the tone, the construction, the preamp and the incredible sound plugged or unplugged, very sweet and warm. My band mates were surprised on the first gigs, one if them always complaint about tuning, not anymore! After 2 years I feel very happy with it, playing lots of gigs on the beach or the city, day or night, cold or hot... it always sounds great. I recommend this guitar to anybody thinking in a good investment but not as expensive.
