  • Great 7 string guitar

As reviewed by ANDREW FALK on 7/12/2013

I was looking for my first 7 string when i happened to cross paths with this guitar. at first glance I couldn't decide what I thought of it. I'm not a huge fan of this body style. The more I looked at it the more it grew on me, and after I played it I was sold. This was the one. The reviews you read online for this guitar are very misleading. They all said the pickups sounded muddy, but people... its a metal guitar, it makes metal music. They seem plenty clear/crunchy to me and everyone I have let play it. If you don't want that buy something else. Everything on this guitar was built solid. Including the trem, no tuning issues at all here. The locking tuners are awesome. I compared this guitar to every other 7 string I could get my hands on, and this was the one i was most comfortable with. The only thing that I wish was different is the frets are a little rough. They just need a good polish then they will be perfect. As far as quality (price excluded) this guitar beats almost every guitar I've played. So, PICK ONE UP! you will not need your receipt because its not going back.

  • Can't argue with a John Petrucci

As reviewed by Max Freudenberg on 12/10/2013

I've been dying to get a 7 string, and you can't beat this price. I could not believe the quality. This guitar should should be worth way more. Good thin body, very playable neck, stays in tune regardless of how much the whammy bar is used, and the tone is perfect. If you want to jump in the world of 7 strings, start with this bad boy. You will not be disappointed.

  • Great 7 String At This Price

As reviewed by luke moran on 7/24/2013

About 5 years ago I saw a video on youtube of someone playing an Ernie Ball Music Man JP7 and I immediately fell in love with it. So I waited patiently, knowing that Sterling made a JP50 and JP60, for them to make a 7 string model, and they've finally done it. It was worth the wait. I picked one up from my local guitar center after jamming on it for about a half hour (which was incredible) and immediately took it back to my bands practice space and just slayed with it. For $550, it is probably the best 7 string guitar for that price range. The body has a great feel. The cut for your arm is perfect. Its a little on the heavy side, but it doesn't bother me. The neck is fantastic. Its really slim, and the back of it is in a matte like finish so moving around the neck is very easy. The bridge is a new system for me, being a string through, but also a floating bridge. Very unique, but holds tunings well (the guy at GC couldnt find the matching whammy bar so they are going to mail it to me, which is fine because I probably wont use it much anyway). It has locking tuners which I love and they make restringing it (which I did right away with a set of D'addario 10-59's) extremely easy. And finally the stock pickups are surprisingly pretty good. I will most likely be changing them out eventually, probably a CL+LF combo, but for now, they still sound pretty good. The guitar looks and sounds amazing, and in all likelihood, I will buy a second one as my backup.
