Excellent bass!!

from Austin, TX

Comments about Squier P Bass Electric Guitar:

I'm a guitarist but often times need a bass for occasions, even if it's someone else playing it in a band with me. This bass definitely gets the job done and more. It's inspired me to start practicing and actually improving my bass skills. It's an absolute blast to play and feels like it should have been at least $300

Great Beginner Bass

Comments about Squier P Bass Electric Guitar:

I got my bass about a week ago, shipping was very fast through UPS and although the bass was a little scratched up I'm sure it was due to the mail. The bass sounds great and I'm surprised it was so cheap. I would recommend this item to anyone who wanted to start playing the bass, I love it so far.

P bass

Comments about Squier P Bass Electric Guitar:

When most people think about fender basses, the words quality, craftsmanship, and precision come to mind. One of fenders brands; squire is quite the opposite though. One of the most commonly sold squire basses is the p bass. While the p stands for precision, the bass is far from it. The body may as well be made from lead because I work up a sweat from how heavy it is. The action without some serious tinkering is higher than a stoner on 420 and the structural integrity of the bass is shoddy to say the least. If you?re trying to keep the noise down or feel like playing without the amp you?ll have to put up with a low rattle that comes from god knows what near the tuning knobs. Seriously I?ve had this bass for years and still can?t figure it out. As far as the sound goes, every p bass has a sweet spot where the low mids to mids have a warm creamy sound. The squire p bass however, lacks said sweet spot and no matter how much you play around with the knobs, the sound remains flat and dull. Overall, the squire p bass lacks quality in its design and sound compared to a more expensive fender p bass. If you want a bass with decent sound and structural integrity for the same price I would recommend the squire jaguar which also has a skinnier neck for petit handed musicians. While the squire p bass isn?t the highest quality bass out there, it?s like your first car. It may be a piece of garbage but what it lacks in performance it makes up in character. When plugged into my 50 watt orange amp, the p bass produces a rough and gritty blues sound as compared to the warmer and cleaner jazz sound it should produce. Overall, the squire p bass is a horrible bass and is not for those looking for a finely crafted instrument. But if you?re looking for a cheap thrill and want to make you?re $300 amp sound like it?s been kicked in then this might be the bass for you.

Great Bass. Even if it is a Squire but it is alright with me

Comments about Squier P Bass Electric Guitar:

I play music for my job. That is what I do and playing bass is some of what I do. I like these Squire basses. Not much different from an actual Fender P Bass that will run you an arm and a leg. Do not let that scare you too much. You can do a great set up and some other things to make this one mean playing bass.I played and owned a few Squire axes and I had great service from them too. IF you are a tech type of musician like me, you can do some upgrades and you will pretty much have a nice bass. I used my Squire Afinity P bass on many shows and I am really tough on my gear and the Squire stood up to what i could put it through. The tone is great. This bass was a workhorse and always got the job done.I like to use some fine sand paper on the back of the neck to smooth it out as i so on all my axes and I check the frets to see that the ends are dressed. Once you do that, you will have a better feel to the neck. Get a good wide padded strap for comfort if you feel it is too heavy. Out of the box I take this home and do my set up. IF you are not sure how to do this have a Guitar Center Tech do it for you and you will be very happy you did. I do a good set up EVERY on axe I play before I do a show. Fit and finish are good on these basses. IF you need an entry level bass that can hang with the big boys, this is your bass and is usually a safe bet. Do a good set up on it as with any instrument. You will also want either a gig bag or a good case. Just set it up, plug it in and play this and the more you play it the better it gets.
