You can simply use this as you would a "traditional" metronome. However with all of the Soundbrenner's feature's you can expand it's usage and tie it in to much more of you music experience! The ability to link several units together alone makes the Soundbrenner uniquely powerful to group rehearsals, recordings and gigings. The DAW Tools for Mac OS X is great for linking up with many Digital Audio Workstations. And how you can customize the metronome's sounds, colors and intervals is SO much more than what you get with a "traditional" metronome.

I am writing from the perspective of a drummer in a cover/bar band.
Everytime i have an idea someone else becomes a millionaire... ALL i wanted was a metronome with a blinking light that i could occasionally glance over at to see if i was still in time after guitar solos or exciting parts of certain songs that might cause me to speed up, more importantly I wanted consistancy thruout the night so i could perfectly time my sets... I stumbled upon this amazing item when searching for just that... i thought HOW CONVENIENT plus I CAN WEAR IT?!... IT VIBRATES!? What better product right?
From a drummers prospective, its just not practical... There is no convenient way to place it on your body...especially if you want to "FEEL" the vibration...Its got that good vibrbation, its got that sweet sensation.. I was picking up good vibrations... but it wasn't giving me the excitations..
EXAMPLE lets say you wanna be the time keeper in the band. the multi color lights seem sweet because you can have a blue light (or heavy vibrate) on the "1" and for the 2,3, & 4 have a white light or a "lighter vibrate" But once you're thrown off you're looking at maybe the Blue light on the "&" or on the 3, etc...
I always thought if its not broke dont fix it, however i wanted to create a perfect video, something with consistent tempo from beginning to end, and even though I have always been told i had perfect tempo I figured this shoud work..
It can bluetooth to a phone or tablet so thats cool
You can create a set list (which takes forever) but is still cool to follow..
i found that the magnetic back of the unit sticks well inside my cowbell and i can reference to it whenever necessary.
The app for this is great however with the need of having the phone or tablet somewhere within reach so you can switch to the next song plus seeing the 1,2,3,4 I feel like i wont even be needing the device if all i need to do is reference to is a phone or tablet from time to time and see exactly what I want.

Comments about Soundbrenner Pulse Wearable Metronome:

Nope. It's does't work as advertised. I ordered one direct and the unit was buggy, and it was so noisy it was being picked up by mics. Just this awful loud buzz. (The vibrations don't feel any different then a cellphone, just more intense.) When I asked to return the product, I'm not kidding, I was referred to a video on YouTube on how to use DENTAL FLOSS to fix the noise. Things got resolved when a guy in the US intervened and help me get my refund (they are located in Hong Kong). It's a gimmick.

Feel the beat with this thing!

    By Shawn

    Comments about Pulse Wearable Metronome:

I use this when playing drums.
This is probably the best type of metronome to use since you feel the beat instead of looking for a visual or needing to run in ears for a click track. I used this device on our last recording and it was flawless. The engineer said that the beats were sitting in the pocket perfectly. When he showed me the drum tracks in Pro tools you could see every transient on each track hitting in almost perfect time with just enough swing. I like feeling the time and I cannot say enough good things about this.

There is a little bit of an adjustment to get used to feeling the beats instead of hearing a click, but it is minimal, maybe 30 minutes or so. I like that you can easily forget about it and just feel the groove.
I tried wearing it in a few places and found that the wrist on my right hand worked best for me--like wearing a watch. I did not get the same feel from my bicep as shown in some of the pictures.

There is a free app for your smartphone that this connects to and is necessary for you to unlock the true potential of this device. The app allows for custom setlists, odd timing signatures, and different ways to set up the beat feedback on the watch--you can change the colors on the watch, the intensity levels for each pulse, and set the intensity levels for each note in a measure letting you know where the one is. Really helpful for the odd times.

Playing live is also really easy and lets you hear the band. In 3 rehearsals the entire set and feel has become much tighter and everything just feels better. The device is pared to your phone and operates thru bluetooth.

Honestly, this has been one of the best tools I have purchased in a long time that has actually improved my playing. I would absolutely replace it of it was lost or damaged.
If you drum this is something you should seriously consider.

My 8 yo son bought this with his birthday money to help him with his drum practice. We have to "reset" it every time we want to use it, therefor it's a failed product for me. We shouldn't have to work this hard for a flipping metronome! While the concept is interesting, the execution, not so much. Would have been kind of nice to have the bpm displayed on the watch face. They could have saved money from the extravagant fancy packaging and put it into the product itself. We will be returning this.

I'm musician for 17 years now. Playing Guitar and Piano. (Sorry for my pure English).
A genius idea but poor execution.

            Here is the failure list:
            1. The pulse size is to big.
            2. There is no way to use it without the straps (In a case that I want to put it
in my pocket and don't want to wear it.
            3. The straps are made from very cheap plastic that sometime irritate my skin.
            4. Unfortunately, the vibration is not strong enough. And we are talking just about acoustic guitar and me, yes? They are promising that the pulse will be strong enough for the whole band. well... no!
            5. There isn't any type of customer service so I can't tell you guys if the pulse work properly with Pro-Tools.
            6. The most important thing:
This metronome is not accurate. At All. There are glitches all the time.

On my second charging of this product I had an issue with connection to charger- I ended up having to leave it offset to establish connection to charge. I filmed issue and emailed company with zero response. I don't practice everyday and every time I go to use it it's dead. If it's 6hrs battery life it's counting sitting there turned off not being used. I've actually watched the battery go down a 1/4 over a 1-1 1/2 hr practice. I don't know if mine is defective since can't get company to respond but got for Christmas present 2016 and its Feb1 and only limited use due to battery. When charged it's works well which just adds to the frustration

Comments about Soundbrenner Pulse Wearable Metronome:

I'm playing with the device for some time now and I'm really astonished. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful packaging of the product. It is nicely designed and just beautiful to look at. I had some issues pairing the device with the app at first, but now it works fluently. You strap it on your wrist, type in the beat in the app or tap it on the device itself (I prefer using the app) and start to play. You can choose between different rhythmic settings and subdivisions. Playing the piano I used to practice with an audio click metronome, which is SUPER annoying. The watch helps me focusing on my inner 'sense' of time, because it is not distracting from the actual process of play. But I feel, that the band and the device itself could be a little bit smaller. I would recommend to offer bands with more size options or something similar. However this is a great product and I hope I will use it for a long time.

This device is finicky and unreliable. I tried it over and over again and sometime could not even shut the unit off. It relies on touch and the calibration drove me to madness. It locked to my Daws metronome once and then never again. I would prefer buttons or switches, it's like having an iPhone that does not respond to your touch. If you just practice with it on your wrist you may like it it. If you you want it got professional recording sessions save your money.

Takes some getting used to. Feeling a vibration against your skin Is more immediate than listening to a click since it takes the brain longer to process sound than touch. So it's really like learning to use a metronome all over again. Live performances have never been tighter with the whole band wearing one. And we don't have to depend on the monitor mix near as much as we used to.
