I needed an inexpensive double-braced throne, and that's what this is. It feels sturdy, and should last a while. Certainly it's better than the office chair I used in the past. Don't be fooled by the thick top, though. This thing is not a cushy seat. I'm solidly-built but not huge at 180lbs, and still don't sink into the cushion very far. I last about 30 minutes before developing painful pressure points on the rear end and legs. It's a good starter throne, as long as you don't expect your tailbone to be cradled in plush comfort.
This is not something you'd want to invest money in unless you'd have too. It's uncomfortable to sit on for more than an hour or so and I'm constantly having to tighten down everything to keep it together and I'm only 160lbs. I'm saving for a Pork Pie throne which I intend on getting very soon. I guess you get what you paid for. My opinion, save your money, and buy something worth while.
Okay, keep in mind this throne is $40. For that little amount of money, it is pretty good. Study and moderately comfortable. It's adjustability is somewhat limited, but again, remember it is very entry level. If you are looking for as good as you can get for as cheap as you can get here you go.
