Outstanding Clarity

Mirror-flat response, very accurate source representation, and absolutely no coloration or dampening exhibited. Very sensitive to the entire frequency spectrum. No audible fatigue noticed after several hours of wear. Excellent Choice.

I've used this model on several occasions. I want to rip them off my head every time I use them with audio that contains a lot of midrange frequencies such as piano or voice. Vocals and pianos specifically sound extremely unnatural with these headphones as if you're listening to them through an old fashoned keyhole. The only thing these headphones have going for them is their solid deep bass response. This model looks rugged and does fold up into one nice compact piece. They are generally comfortable to wear but I just can't keep em on for very long due to my distaste for their sound signature. Overall I wouldn't recommend this pair of headphones. A pair of Sony MDR-V150's sound better in my opinion.

I play bass on a worship team using avioms. These work excellently. Didn't see many post about this application so I figured I would give my opinion. They handle the low B. They are comfy. They are plenty loud. Excellent purchase.

My 1st pair of these headphones, the week after the 45 day return policy was over, one of the ears had no sound coming out of them. The new ones that I got, everything is everything so far. Excellent sound quality !!

        Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

These are very clear and flat sounding. No noticeable harshness or distortion. I use them for live monitoring because I play electronic drums and hate earbuds. I bought the ATH M30x first but after comparing them with my friend's 7506 I exchanged them for the 7506. These don't seem as durable as some other headphones I have but as long as you don't abuse them they should hold up well

          Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

I've used these headphones for 10 years at my current job for almost 8 hours a day and I wouldn't even think of switching headphones. I've been an audio producer for 10 years at the same company and use these every day. 10 years and last year I just got a new pair. Where I work I unfortunately can't use my $1000 studio monitors because of lack of soundproofing and adjacent offices that I would disrupt. I was given these headphones when I started and loved them. I use them for audio imaging, production, mixing and mastering. When I finish a project I listen back on the studio monitors and it's a match. These headphones give you a clean, exact representation of the sound being input to them. They don't add bass that wasn't there like other headphones that are more advertised for general public use. These give you the TRUE source sound.

They are COMFORTABLE! I wear these for 10 hours a day sometimes. Most over-ear headphones squeeze your head and these don't. The padding makes them comfortable. Now, if you wear them as much as I do the foam will start to break up over 3 years or so...they sell padding replacements!! The only thing that killed my last pair after almost 8 years was that the wire rubbed raw against a desk corner it ran across. Nothing actually wrong with the phones. It was 8 years of a wire rubbing on a desk corner.

Guess I should mention that I even use these at home. Also, because of me, so does my 65 year old mother. She loves listening to Yanni on them. I hear "Reflections of Passion" is "utterly beautiful" through these, haha. I can't speak higher of these. Totally pro all around.

You don't need to spend more money because in this case money doesn't equal performance. If I want pure audio quality I'll ESPECIALLY pick these over more expensive headphones. I don't want bass, or "noise-cancelling" stuff added by headphones because that's what a consumer wants. If you're looking at these it's because you want true sound.

          Comments about MDR-7506 Headphones:

Product is fine. Website sucks, refusing my credit card, saying authorization refused. This is bull, since I use the card regularly and had recently. I phoned the issuer and they "preauthorized" the purchase and that worked. Fix your site and let me know; unless I hear from you I'll not shop there again.

I bought these to use at home to plug into my amp when everyone else in the house is sleeping but I want to play guitar. They work perfectly for that, the sound is great, they are extremely comfortable, I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Great purchase.

                Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

I bought these for a radio editing gig because they are what's used pretty much exclusively at the station of the show I work on. To be honest I much prefer the sound of my Beyer Dynamic DT 235 for every day monitoring, they're lower cost and to me have a much more open natural sound. 7506 headphones are midrange focused and to me do not reflect a natural spectrum of sound. However the MDR 7506 do have some distinct pluses - they are super comfortable to wear over long periods (i.e. for audio editing), they have that great folding mechanism and come with a pro looking bag to carry them in, and they are 100 percent industry standard, certainly for broadcast they are absolutely everywhere, and it's always good to have a pair in that field at least so you can hear what everyone else is hearing!
