Where have you been all my life?

Comments about Singular Sound BeatBuddy:

Great product! Stellar Customer Service! This baby is built sturdily. It gets a lot of hits from me and has never even hinted at missing a beat. I'm almost 62 and had just about given up on my playing days. I bought this pedal as a curiosity item, and boy, has it renewed my interest in playing again. I even have built up callouses again like when I was 20! It's a tad spendy, but find a way to get one. One thing to note - To get a full range sound, don't try to play it through a regular amp. Find something with a good frequency range, like an old stereo...seriously. What I have done for this bad boy is to buy a Harbinger APS-15 15" powered PA speaker with an on-board mixer and 5-band eq. I got it online from GC for $149 and it mates perfectly with the BeatBuddy. I can't say enough about my BeatBuddy, so I'll shut up now and go play.

Comments about Singular Sound BeatBuddy:

I am a worship leader at a contemporary style church. I've been without a live drummer for almost a year now, and the BeatBuddy has been a life saver! It's incredibly realistic and consistent sounding.

It has a large library of drum loops, however I'd estimate that only about 50% of them are usable for regular songs. And many of the usable loops are so similar to each other that they're really not distinguishable. I wish it had less 'repeats' and a few more usable unique rhythms. Other than that, I have no complaints. It's a fantastic tool!

Like this allot but it will take a while to learn how to properly use it. Everything is well documented. Web user forums and manufacturer web sites are all very helpful. I emailed for technical assistance and got response same day. The company seems to be very customer service oriented. Construction is very good.

Love it!!! I just wish it had a better memory then a little card. Specially for the cost of it. But it is very fun right out of the box. It likes to move around a lot. I don't like using Velcro on my pedals. So I will have to figure something to help. The sound is very good and love the metal !!!!!!!!

      Comments about Singular Sound BeatBuddy:

I use this in my little studio. Have not had it very long. I really love it. It's a little pricey. I know it's new ,but I worry a little that the memory card might go bad. They have a free download to fix it if your card is corrupt. I have had good cards from other things that I have losses everything and then in this case I would have to buy another card ,but maybe it lasts a long time. They make more drum beats for you to add but they want more money and more money. It already costs a lot, so I really don't want to spend more money even though they look like they have a good selection. But again after the pedal and they foot switch that's a lot of money and if you keep buying there updated drum beats it could end up costing a lot. I do love it.

            Comments about Singular Sound BeatBuddy:

Years ago I had an Italian made drum machine that allowed for foot pedal control of fills, turnarounds and endings. The sounds were a bit lame but they did the trick on small jobs.
Since then, it's been difficult to find a good drum option with foot pedal control.
I have been programming beats on a zoom pedal, but it's a little tedious.
The Beatbuddy arrives ready-to-go. It's very "open source" in the sense that I can customize using my own midi patterns and rearrange patterns already present in the package.
The Beatbuddy forum is populated by a lot of generous people who share their own patterns and songs.
Some of these songs are gig-ready and include bass. (Nice!)
The difficult I have is, when programming my own patterns using my DAW, the sounds I am hearing often do not match the Beatbuddy Kit. I was hoping that using a GM kit would solve the problem, but the mapping is not always a match.
The basic kits are missing some favorite wav samples, like sk
            Shakers and Tamborine.
It's something I'm sure I can get around but customizing my own kits, but I wish the Beatbuddy kits were a little more robust in the area of sound samples.
Rearranging order of songs and beats is easy using the manager software.
Creating my own set lists is also a breeze.
Great pedal for gigging and practicing.
I also bought the additional two step pedal to access the additional features. Worth the money.

Wanted an easy to use, foot-controllable drum machine for jams while I play guitar through and amp and PA. Sounds quality is good through PA, and the device is fairly easy to operate (conceptually simple, the skill comes from you :) ) I was able to throw down an hour of guitar jams with dynamic drums controlled by my foot. It was fun and it was good.

OK, I did a ton of research before buying this guy, and the matching footswitch (a MUST btw). Only took a few minutes to figure the settings out, simple to use. This thing is an absolute must for anyone who does not have/need a drummer present. I also bought a Simmons DA200s which I plug this thing into. WOW, its like a drummer is in the room. The beat buddy is amazing! You can use it on the floor with one foot standing/sitting, or, on your desktop table and use your hand, but on the floor with the footswitch is heavily recommended. So many genres, change tempo, customize the footswitch, pause, do an into/outro, crash cymbals, just Wow!

A drummer in a pedal - what a great idea. Amazing sound, audio pass through, MIDI timing, and great software interface. If it doesn't have the songs you want, you can buy others, or write them yourself. The Beat Buddy Manager software gives lots of control over just about any parameter, and the operating system is updated with new options on a regular basis.
A nice unit that will grow with you.

A drum machine that sounds great and is easy to program, which makes it special since most drum machines' learning curves are daunting.

Designed for the working musicians, worth every dime. Adding the heavy duty footswitch and midi sync chord is recommeded.

More than words can explain. It is the perfect companion to practice, or in my case, solo gigs. If you're drummer is ever late for practice, this can definitely fill the void too. Sounds very realistic, not like a MIDI box.
