The PGX-14 is very easy to set up and provides outstanding sound quality. After seeing a friends band play with these I picked one up and have been very happy. I play a Geddy Jazz through a SWR-SM 500 and it sounds better with the wireless than it did with a Monster Cable. The battery life is about what the manual says ~ 8 hours. Pick one up you will not be dissapointed. B

This unit has latency issues; especially when softening up your attack for lighter dynamics. I contacted Shure after the purchase and the rep. stated that this was not news and it is well known that this is an issue with the model and I shouldn't expect much more for the amount of money spent! That inspires confidence in a company. It's not a horrible product but I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase.

AWESOME

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

I'm borrowing mine from one of my friends. This thing is absolutely awesome. From the change of using a chord to a wireless, it's a little bit of pain to put the transmitter on everytime but Your gonna have the same problem no matter which one you buys. Works great with acoustics also! Highly recommend it!

WOW!!!

By Tommy

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

I tried a Samson wireless stomp box type system that said it reached like 300 feet and as soon as I walked like 20 feet I started to hear noise and I'm not exaggerating... after that disappointment I decided to get this shure system and got no noise what so ever just a bright nice sound, boy I'm glad I bought this product that hasn't let me down.

not suitable for bass guitar

By Edward

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

I bought one of these to try with my bass rig and learned within minutes it was completely worthless in that application. The sound is heavily compressed with a terrible low end. It might be great for guitar, but not for bass. I returned it.

leave at store if its for an electric guitar

By Nathan

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

I just got this last week hooked it up to my electric (American Fender Strat) I run a pedal board OCD, TubeScreamer, DD-3, sonic stomp, EQ and few others to a vox AC-15 tube amp and this thing killed my tone, Could not get enough gain to even make the Overdrive pedals work they sounded clean with no overdrive at all until I turned up there gain and level and made them sound awful. If I sent a hotter signal that you can change on pack it would peak out and sound worse. Spend the extra money and get a sennheiser G3. I hooked up my sennheiser G2 system and it sounded great through my equipment, Im taking this one back as soon as possible and getting the G3 Unit. Might work fine with an acoustic but not with an Electric.

Wow!

By PWare

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

After reading about this unit and the competitors I decided to spend a bit more for this one. I could not be any happier. I got the unit the day of our concert and plugged it in turned it on and started playing. Range was great in our school gym. Sound was clear too. I also ordered the headset. Again, wonderful plug and play. I have one unit that can do voice or instrumental.

Excellent Product

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

i used to have a line 6 xdr95 wireless which i loved but it got this as a gift about 2 months ago. i absolutely love it. with the line 6 i used to get some feedback if i didnt turn off my volume when it stopped playing but with this system i can stop and lift my hand off the strings with no feedback. i get the brutal heavy tone for my rhythms and a crystal clear channel when i need that. i have walked around the entire house while my band was playing and they could hear my perfectly, its a great buy, highly reccommended

Awsome

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

this is definatly the best wireless guitar setup ever for the price. it does give allitle more feedback and distortion than a straight cable but if playing metal it actually adds somewhat to that sound. the battery life is great. about 8 hours and you can go about 200 feet away from the reciever.

Excellent system

By Ryan Williams

from Richmond,in

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

there is one universal system in guitar gear Keep It Simple Stupid. This system is just that. EXTREMELY easy to setup. The range thus far is extremely impressive.I didnt even need to book to set it up. Its literally THAT simple. I reccomend this system for someone who is not looking to go to college to operate their rig but wants a reliable wireless system.

Great Sysytem for the Money

By Anonymous

from Hayward, California

Comments about Shure PGX14 Wireless Guitar/Bass System:

I picked out this system for the price and also the recommendation of Mark, the guitar guy I met at the San Jose store who seemed to know a fair amount about the products there. He said the PGX was the one they used for demos and it was easy with a clean sound. He was right - it's very simple and quick to get started and I got very clean sound no matter where I moved to. My one complaint is that it says 8 hours of battery time, but you can't afford to have it go out suddenly when it decides it's out of battery. Right away I guess I got mixed up on when I put in the new battery and it cut out in the middle of a song, so I would say put new batteries in every show and don't worry about it. Other than that it's a perfect system and a great carrying case too.
