Designed for a comfortable fit and to give you great sound, while keeping the sounds you don't want out.

Evolved from personal monitor technology that's been road-tested by pro musicians, the SE315 Sound Isolating Headphones deliver full range sound for personal listening or professional monitoring. Featuring single, high-definition MicroDrivers, the SE315 delivers full-range sound and optimized low-end performance utilizing a vented driver. A detachable cable with formable wire enables easy replacement and secure, comfortable fit on stage or on the go. The included sound Isolating sleeves in multiple sizes provide up to 37dB of isolation and a customized fit.

Sound Isolating Sleeves
The role of the included sound isolating sleeves is twofold: blocking ambient noise and ensuring a comfortable customized fit. Because every ear is different, the Fit Kit includes three sizes (S, M, L) of the flex and black foam sleeves as well as 1 pair of triple flange and 1 pair of universal fit yellow foam sleeves. Experiment with the size and style that creates the best fit for you-a good seal is key to optimizing sound isolation and bass response as well as maximizing comfort during extended wear.

As reviewed by Crushon Evans on 12/24/2010

This are highly recommended. I was using dr. dre beats solo and I was encouraged to try these. I got and it was like I had super human hearing, I could hear everything so clear. It was amazing the best earphones ever. If you're a musician you should have a pair of these no doubt.

  • excellent sound, take the time to set them up right

As reviewed by Noah Montena on 4/30/2011

Most of the time, I prefer to wear over-the-ear cans for sound quality, isolation, and comfort, but they're not always the best choice for yard work or exercise. I'd never had much luck with earbuds, finding the plinky sound unsatisfactory, and the need to constantly press them back in my ears irritating, so I was excited when Shure first came out with their in-canal plugs a few years ago. They sounded tremendous, it didn't matter if you got sweaty, and they stayed in place pretty well. The insulation on the cord was a bit stiff, though, and I found that they were sometimes difficult to keep looped over my ear because the cord would spring out when I turned my head. The new SE315s are a major improvement. They still sound awesome, and Shure has made a bunch of little tweaks to the old design to make them more usable, starting with a very pliable mesh cord-wrap, which is slim, clear and lightweight. It has a shape-retaining sleeve near each ear-pod which keeps the over-ear kink in place better. Another welcome touch is the removability of the cords from the phones themselves, and the tiny sockets swivel freely, making positioning in the ear a very light touch. Shure also provides a large selection of ear canal adapters to fit your ears, and the way you may use the headphones, including several sizes of silicone mushroom caps, and cool memory-foam wads that expand in place. If you have ever used industrial hearing protection, you know how well this works for isolation and fit. All of this may seem fussy if you just want to drop your headphones in and listen, but it makes a huge difference in how comfortable the phones are to wear, how good they will sound, and how little you will have to readjust them as you work or move around. I would imagine this also makes the SE315s decent monitors on-stage.

  • Sound good, until they stop working

As reviewed by Tom Schupbach on 5/14/2012

I purchased a set of the 315 earbuds from Guitar Center and used them for awhile with the supplied sleeves. None of them fit my ear well and were uncomfortable to wear for long periods (an hour or more). I went to a hearing aid company and they made molds to fit my ears, then sent the molds off to a company that made new custom sleeves to fit the Shure buds. 100% improvement in the sound (which wasn't bad in the first place) and also in the ambient noise reduction. As a matter of fact, you have to take one out to hear something that isn't going through the Aviom system we are using. All was great, until..... One evening at practice, the left bud started crackling badly, especially on the bass notes, then quit altogether. I had to perform the next week using only the right bud, but got by OK. I'm in process of contacting Shure in order to try to get a warranty, but it looks like I'll have to send the entire set (less the sleeves) to them and I'll be without monitors for however long that takes. I'm going to try taking them back to Guitar Center first, to see if they can do anything. They have been great in the past so my hopes are high! Other than the failure of the left bud, I've enjoyed these IEM's very much.
