Overview

The Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Pickup is an exact replica of the original Alnico V Stratocaster guitar pickups. The same type of magnet wire is used, as well as the same number of coil windings. The staggered rod magnets are hand-ground, then aged by the exclusive Dun-Aged process. Lacquered bobbins and cloth-braid hookup wire complete the vintage look. Every detail is included to duplicate the bell-like tone and the high-end bite that made the vintage Strat pickups famous.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Guitar Pickup:

This pickup sounds great. I put it in my Squier Bullet Strat because the stock pickups were terrible. It's in the neck position. I love the sound of it. I wanted a pickup that would give me the sound of The Smiths and it exceeded my expectations. It's very bright and chimey. I ordered it in black but for some reason unknown to me, it came in white. I wanted a specific color scheme for my guitar but was denied. I don't know why the lady who ordered it ignored my request. I was never given a reason why it came in the wrong color. Not receiving the pickup in the color that I asked and paid for is my only complaint about this pickup.

    Vintage Strat Tone Rocks!

Comments about Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Guitar Pickup:

I wanted to change the single coil in the bridge of my ESP LTD Kamikaze so with the other Seymour Duncan options, I went with this one. I have not had the opportunity to run it through a tube amp, but so far things are really nice, creamy, a little bluesy. The spacing is a little wider than Floyd Spaced pickups but in the neck position it seems to be fine. <3

Excellent vintage pickup. (Better than Fender)

    By

Comments about Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Guitar Pickup:

This pickup is an excellent vintage-style pickup. It's very, very similar to the Fender 57/62. So similar, in fact, that unless you hear one, and then the other, it's very hard to tell the difference. This pickup is a little fuller sounding than the Fender, with a bit more midrange.

    Great Pickup ;)

Comments about Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Guitar Pickup:

I already had 2 of these in my backup guitar and I needed 1 more to replace the texas specials in my '62 Reissue Strat. It turns out that I ended up with a well matched set I put this one in the neck position. I put an RW/RP in the center and my other one in the bridge with a steel baseplate Now it sounds like a vintage '62 strat should !!!! except I have one of my tone controls hooked up to the bridge and the other to the mid and neck so I can take some edge off the bridge. These pickups ROCK

    Old Chevy Rock!

    By

Comments about Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Guitar Pickup:

This pickup is gorgeous! Great Mids and Bass for the lover of 50's tone then and now. With a pedal you can sustain in tone heaven(pun intended). Rockin with Country, Clapton Blues, or good old American Rock. You will dig this pup, unless you like metal, then don't even look at true, pure single coil tone.
