  • Thrifty, nifty and lifty

    I'm working with former bandmates on original material and needed a means of containing and transporting my DAW. I went to the local Guitar Center in Tulsa and the guys in the Live Sound section were quick to provide a solution in the form of the SKB 10. They didn't have it in-store but did show availability in Kansas City and set up the shipping. The unit arrived sooner than predicted(as has everything I've ordered from GC, nice plus) and I preceded to 'mount up'. So far I've mounted an Edirol M16-DX audio interface(waiting for an SKB velcro drawer to arrive to house the Edirol mixer), a Furman power conditioner, and an SKB 4-space drawer for cables, mics and such. It's pretty much a sure bet that I'll order another velcro drawer for my Boss DR-880 Rhythm Machine, and I'll probably need to re-mount some items to facilitate ease of internal cable routing. In that respect, this little jewel has plenty of room and is built for ease of adaptation, so no problem there. The nice thing is, I'm kind of an old dog and the materials this case is constructed from keeps the total package under the weight of my Peavey Stereo Chorus 212. Another nice plus. There's a handy space on top to place a control center for my Mac, or just the Mac itself, and is designed to provide secure stability to prevent unwanted crashes. The case exterior is easy to clean and easy to carry with the built-in handles. In all, I'm very pleased with this addition to my gear and would recommend both the quality of SKB and the helpfulness of the entire crew at Guitar Center. I thank you, and I thank you.
