Combining meticulous digital re-creations of the sounds of some of Roland's most legendary analog gear with their latest digital technology, Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB), the Aira series adds 21st century features to the gear that gave birth to a musical genre, and adds a few new twists. Roland Aira is OG EDM, evolved.
Bringing together the classic VP-330-style vocoder sounds with modern auto-pitch and lo-fi, "glitchy" effects, the VT-3 Voice Transformer goes beyond simple "robot voice" effects to provide the aggressively processed vocal effects so frequently used in today's music. From simple and subtle to completely over-the-top, the VT-3 integrates perfectly with the rest of the Aira series.
The original TB-303 Bass Line was one half of the one-two punch of Roland's defining role in the evolution of what has become today's EDM explosion. The TB-3 refines and recreates that breakthrough product for a new generation. Performance-ready, the TB-3 features brightly lit, multi-color pressure-sensitive touch pads for creating and controlling bass patterns. The latest evolution of the TB step sequencer features simple switching between creation and performance modes, as well as auto-pattern generation and random pattern modification to capture the spirit of the original's unique pattern operation. The new "Scatter" control offers even greater possibilities for phrase variations.
An evolution of the other half of the duo that defined EDM, the TR-8 takes what everybody loved about the TR-808 and TR-909 Rhythm Composers and adds the features and functions modern musicians need. Obsessively re-creating the details and nuances of the original's analog circuitry and sounds wasn't enough. The TR-8 goes even further, with new features like tune and decay knobs for every instrument and dedicated "Attack" and "Comp" knobs on kick and snare modules, greatly expanding the variety of available tones, as well as the ability to build custom kits from the 808 and 909 instruments. New performance and sequencing features, like expanded realtime play, pattern randomizing and the innovative "Scatter" control, bring a feast of new possibilities.
Re-creating Roland's System 100, 100M and legendary System 700, the System-1 gives you access to a huge palette of synth sounds with roots stretching across Roland's more than four decades of synth design. Based around the same Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology as the rest of the Aira series, the System-1 not only provides the rich sounds of the originals, but can actually control, and even host, plug-in versions of other legendary Roland synths, with the ability to seamlessly switch between System-1's internal sounds and the sounds of the hosted plug-in—with a dizzying range of performance-ready controls, featuring enough knobs, lights and sliders to make any vintage synth fan feel completely at home.
