I guess you could call me a "professional musician" as I get paid to play some small venues, but I enjoy just hanging around a campfire and jamming with friends. I bought this guitar 3 years ago with the mandolin. I wanted to get into the mandolin field and figured why not get a guitar with it for a few extra bucks? I was blown away by it. After 3 years of heavy use as a campfire bandit it is still as awesome as it was when I first played it. It still stays in tune and it can take a beating. I have dropped it a few times and it has gained a few battle scars, but nothing serious enough to need to have repairs done or replace it. If you are looking for a nice guitar for dirt cheap, get this one. When it comes to tone and sound, most of that is on you. You could have a $5,000 guitar and a $10,000 set up and it could still sound like doo-doo if you don't have a strong sense of the guitar. You need to build your own sound/tone. I can play any guitar and still have my personal sound so why spend a bunch of money on a guitar when this one works just as well. *I have been playing guitar for 10+ years and play around 70 shows a year.

I've been playing guitar for 5 years, and I've had this guitar for about 2 years. This is my only acoustic guitar right now due to a lack of funds, and being a more intermediate player, I do need a new guitar. This guitar is great for beginners, extremely durable, sounds good for a beginners guitar, but as you progress it will leave some to be desired. I don't like how it looks, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. After 2 years, I must say that this guitar has held up very well, and is great for beginners, but as you get better I would suggest buying a new guitar

It 's personal want. I always wanted to learn to play a guitar. I'm 45 years old and I don't think it is too late. Just time and love I feel that I can do it. Thanks.

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Bought an RD80 at GC in Grand Rapids, for use at family farmhouse while on vacation. Pleasantly surprised how well it plays. Starts to dud out above 10th fret, but with NO tweaks, it had great action, intonation. It stays in tune, tone is okay and great for the money. Not a toy. Perhaps the bargain of the decade.

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is absolutely enough for a beginner to learn on - the catch being to adjust the truss rod to set the action to your liking. Low-end guitars do tend to vary a lot from one to another, so you might want to go play it in the store before buying. The one I happened to pick up in Guitar Center sounded fine and plays surprisingly well. One caveat, I leave it in Low C tuning for certain songs and I didn't expect it to sound like a $2000 guitar to begin with - this is not a Taylor in disguise, but at this price I'm going to buy a couple more just for fun. My main guitar is a Taylor 514CE and I'm a pro player....so again, I wouldn't use this to record unless I was looking for a "special" sound, but it can be surprisingly big sounding.

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I can only recommend this guitar for a early teen, who has no idea what good sound is, or good finish on frets feels like. Did a proper setup, and I put four different sets of strings on this and I could not get a pleasing sound (to my ears) out of this guitar. I returned it after three days. If buying for a kid that wants to try to learn. Fine you'll save money, sorta. Cause they will most likely quit, after hearing the better one there teacher has. On the other hand, spent a little more, and you can get a much better guitar. I exchanged, in store so i could play others and listen to them. Ended up with one that was only $60 more then the Rouge, I won't tell you what it was, but I will say the same company makes MOTORCYCLES AND 4-WHEELERS as well, and has f335 in its name..... much much better guitar.

Took it out of the box, tightened the truss rod, and this thing is perfect. Dead flat neck, without a hump or a lump anywhere. Can't find a high fret ( I've tried). Maybe not the prettiest guitar ever, (has a few knots in the top) but, I could care less. Whatever kind of wood the fret board is made of, I like it.

Warrior Cry Music Project gives these guitars to some Military Hospitals and a few Wounded Service Members and have never had one problem or complaint. We have gotten a lot of these guitars and I mean a lot. They play really well and the action is always pretty nice out of the box. You cant beat it for what you get for the price.
