bought this to see if it is actually worth the price... its worth every penny and more... i am a welder and machinist with an 18 yr. background in master cabinet building and i dont know how they sell this for this price... their keyboard cases are only 8" wider (long way) and are almost 200.00 PLUS this has the padded metal bars for holding guitars and basses.. it is VERY heavy duty... the bars seem a little flimsy but with the flip up bar locking tabs it makes them sturdier... i would definitely use this on stage also....

Opened this up for the first time today... Outer case is fine, it has the look of a flight case, but I wouldn't want to test it. Holds guitars just fine, but the thin hinges that hold up the stand are really shabby. One hinge's screws were next to the hinge because the holes were stripped by the factory. On the other side, the hinge pin was broken off from the hinge screws being installed at bad angles. If you buy this, take the internal hinges off and replace them with something more sturdy...

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

Beware there is nothing that will hohd your guitars from falling forward out of the stand as there are straps on the 5guitar model the solution given to me by guitar center rep and I quote " get a bungee cord ". Totally unacceptable solution !

      Roadrunner 7

      By

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

Just ordered my 2nd one of these. These are amazing for condensing all of your instruments into a smaller place. I've also taken mine to a couple dozen shows for my band and never had an issue with it. I wouldn't recommend trying to carry it full of guitars as it starts swaying, but it's been awesome and I've had my first one for 3 years. Just needed another to fill up some more spots! Great item for the price!

      Sturdy.

      By

      from Albemarle, NC

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

Bought this as an alternative to the folding multi-stands. Well constructed with only one issue. The holes for the horizontal cross bar were mislocated and would not line up with the snap retainers on the vertical uprights. Simple fix with a slightly oversized drill bit. The twist lock closures are an added feature and makes it more secure when closed as this case is on the heavy side. The look is professional. Adjustable velcro attached strips in the bottom make this adaptable to any guitar. Once my guitars are packed away this case doubles as storage for mics, straps, and cables, etc. I'd recommend this to anyone who seriously wants to secure their guitars on stage or in the studio.

      2nd Review

      By

      from Troy, Michigan

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

To add to my previous review, I replaced the hinges with the same size, but more durable hinges from my local hardware store. Also changed the bolts to longer bolts with locking nuts. The stand is now road worthy and holds guitars really well. I do suggest placing a towel or some sort of nitro friendly cloth on the rack as it may not be nitro friendly. Now its ready, I'm taking this to its first gig on Saturday. Also as an added bonus, I found there is a lot of wasted space inside the case. So much extra space, I looked for ways to use it to haul additional gear. I use the Gater Bone pedal board and found it fits perfectly inside the case. There is room on either side for a small bag for my strings, tools, pick, and extra cables. Plus room for my Furman power supply. That saves me a lot of extra trips to the car. This diamond in the rough is suddenly worth its weight in gold.

      THIS IS NOT A CASE.

      By

      from Chelmsford MA

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

When I walked into Guitarcenter looking for a case, I thought I had found the one- I had read about this before, and I knew it was a 7 guitar stand additionally- and as I was looking for stands this helped as well. Not only was I disappointed to find out that the 'supports' are wobbly at best, and the velcro bars crush with the weight of an ant.

      Great For Travel

      By

      from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

I bought this to replace the ProLine 5 guitar stand that my bandmates and I were using that kept falling apart. The overall build on this rack seems kinda weak, but works great!! It sets up quick in seconds, and takes as much room as a guitar case when you travel. My basses and 2 guitars are kept in this at the practice space when I'm not using them, and the foam is holding up well after about 3 years of constant pressure. It may seem a bit pricey, but when compared to the folding rack cases that Fender has out there, it's a bargain. My only complaint is that Road Runner seems to be getting out of the folding racks, and the 3 and 5 models are no longer available.

      Good Stand For The Money

      By

      from Maryville TN

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

This is a good stand for the money. It easily held 6 of my guitars at our gig and one of them has a Floyd tremolo, so the extra space allowed all of my guitars to rest safely in the stand without the fear of getting scratched or banged into the other guitars. Stand packs up nice and neat. Only thing that I noticed that kept it from getting 5 stars is that one of the holes is drilled incorrectly and doesn't match the spring loaded release pin. Even with that problem, the stand is still stable.

      Road Runner 7 is a Steal !!!

      By

      from Beverly Hills, CA

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

I bought this case at Guitar Center with a coupon. This is a steal. I'm going to use it in my studio and probably wont take it out very much. If you do this you'll be in great shape. If your out on the road with it playing a lot, it won't last forever. PLEASE READ!!! People keep complaining that this stand isn't that sturdy and doesn't hold the guitars as well as it should. THERE ARE HIDDEN SUPPORT ARMS INSIDE THE TOP OF THE CASE LID! They swing out on each side and hold the stand legs securely in place. Each arm has a cut out that fits the stand leg perfectly. If you do it right, your case lid should be at a perfect 90 degree angle because the support arms swing out and lock on to each leg!! This thing is sturdy as a mother!!! Look at the price of the Fender case stand? 300 bucks?? Way too much for that. Spend this much and you'll be happy with this case/stand.

      Weak, cramped.

      By

      from Oklahoma City, OK

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

It works, mostly, I don't have a lot of confidence in it. It does not fit 7 guitars if any of them are acoustic guitars. My archtop barely fits between my bases. None of my guitars are super expensive but I don't want them banged up. All my acoustics have to go in separate stands. I am a little disappointed but not surprised.
