The Remo Roto Toms are a great addition for a person who wants to achieve a greater sound variety on their kit. I purchased these to be able to have a higher range of toms. This is a great addition especially for a person who likes to play Rush. Although these toms are not like Neil Peart's small toms, they pack a great sound, and a sound quite similiar. I think any intermediate- advanced drummer should definetly have these toms.

These are definitely great for jazz work and light rock. They're fun to play around with, [Like 16th notes while tuning the drum down at the same time ;)], and definitely a harder drum to tune. The heads are near impossible to find (Still looking for them) and you'll have problems with the stand. (I ended up having to screw a long screw into a part of the stand to keep the mounting bar o stay in one place). They're definitely becoming less popular and less sought after, so I could definitely see myself moving to octobans or deccabons since those seem to be sprouting up instead of diminishing. If you REALLY want roto toms, its probably a good idea to find and buy a set of new heads for future use before hand ;)

Great Add-On For Your Kit!

By Bob Gonzalez

from Perry, OH

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

I have only kept two things in my drum kit consistantly over the past 15 years. A set of hi-hats, and Remo Roto Toms. I first saw them on Roger Taylor's kit from Queen, and I had to get a set for myself. I love the different sounds that can be produced by them. I am also constantly changing heads on the drums to produce a different effect from them. They work great as substitues for timbales, and can also be tuned on the fly for specific purposes (ie. in Pink Floyd's "Time.") Get some for your kit, and you will have instantly expanded your pallet of musical choices!

amazing!

By person1231

from Birmingham, AL

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

These roto toms are great! They tune a full octave which is very cool. But if you have your drums in a small area, you might need to "make some space" because they are pretty big. Of course if you like "Rush" you really need to get these! Great product, great price!

Remo Roto Toms 6 & 8 and 10 Inch

By SnareMan420

from Staten Island, NY

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

I love the sound of these drums. I've stayed in the music store near my house for hours just playing with the different sounds you can get out of these. While in the middle of playing anything on it you can adjust it quick for a great change in pitch as it resonates. After you get comfortable switching as you play, it sounds amazing. Since they can be tuned melodically it adds a whole new dimension to what you play.

Nice Addition

By Ross Anderson

from Pickens, SC

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

These roto toms are a really great add on for any drummer...the only thing i did not like about them was the bulk of the stand it tends to get in the way. They sound great for jamming and they are really fun to play. I would recomend having a rack for you drumset to free up some space.

My first upgrade, still my most used upgrade!!!

By Beezer1324

from Denver, CO

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

After two years of playing drums i decided to expand my vintage rogers set, this was my first thing not vintage on the set. And it has been the most important addition since. It can be tuned on the fly, tuned during strikes, and used as anything from hand bongos to Drum fill starters. I think its an addition that any drummer of any skill level and practice can appreciate. I would like to add i have owned it for 9 years now and have never had any issues with it aside from the locking nut that holds the toms to the mounting stand seems very weak and insuffieciant, it defiantely needs to be changed. Otherwise its i well built.

Great High Pitched Roto's

By Nick

from Buffalo, New York

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

Last year I purchased these toms. The toms sound great, especially when you do a rim shot on it, then you will get that clean timbale sound. The only thing I don't like is the stand. The part where the adjustable bar goes on is NOT the best quality. Whenever you go to rotate a tom, the bar moves. Other than that, everything is good.

Remo Roto Toms 6 & 8 and 10 Inch Black

By Northern Lights

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

Fantastic sound, easy tuning on the fly. The only complaint: The small lug that is used to attach the bar to the stand is to small and strips very easily. I have replaced it with a bolt and nut. I love em.

good product-poor service

By SCARY BOY

from houston,texas

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

When my roto-toms arrived, the cheap box it was shipped in was falling apart.all of the long screws that hold on the heads were bent so badly,I had to turn two of them with pliers...they sound good-a five-star product.too bad the guitar center sent it in its own box.It should have been packed in a padded box.then they would have arrived in a better condition.

By Skidney

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

Anytime you want a little more drum choices for your set Roto Toms should be the first thing you look at. They are so flexable you can even change thier sound mid song. Ant style of music, any set size and any player can just thow a set of these in the mix and bam you got 3 more toms that are great sounding, durable and flexable. A must have for any drummer.

Very disappointed

By Nich

from Lake Forest, CA

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

When i had got then these drums i was very excited but i was very suprised when i learned how much space they take up! And the 6" drum head breaks very easilyand these heads are almost impossible to find enless you specially order them and the bolt that holds the rack up over about a month will keep slipping no matter what you do so you will end up having to buy another bolt every other month or so!

Great add on!

By Travis Busby

from Dallas, Tx

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

I originally bought these because my band covers "Time" by Pink Floyd and you kinda have to have these to make the intro sound right. I've managed to incorporate them into other songs, so I get a good amount of use out of them. Ive heard reviews about the lug stripping out, but Ive had mine for several months, and played many shows with them and I have yet to have this issue. They do take up a little extra room, so if space is an issue, they might not work out for you. If youre looking for a nice add on to your kit that wont break the bank these are a good choice!

Great sound with one flaw!

By Michael Dobrzyn

from NE Pennsylvania

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

Bought these Toms for my son. They are a great sounding product giving expanded tonal range to your set. I found just one flaw, that is easily remedied if you do it during assembly you will save yourself a major headache. The frame uses a single allen headed bolt to fasten the frame to the stand. With agressive play it works its way loose. The fix is quite simple. On the way home, stop at an auto parts store and pick up a tube of Locktight Tread Locker. A drop or two on the threads of the allen bolt prevents it from working loose. Problem solved!

Awesome!

By Victor Huerta

from Cleveland, Texas

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

Not much I can say other than, they are a great addition for any drummer. Different sound, strong & durable. Easy to set up. Just all around awesome! I recommend these RemoRotoToms to every drummer. I got mine for $210. They are well worth the price! Like any drum just don't ever over tighten the lugs (you don't wanna strip them.) This is a great product so don't hesitate or wait & buy them already!!

Remo Roto Toms

By Richard Marino

from Bordentown NJ

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

These are really cool and a great addition to my set. They sound terrific and setup easy. I like the way you just turn them to get a different sound. I don't play the 6" much and I can't seem to stop it from turning from vibration. The 8" and 10" I play all the time and don't turn as much from vibration. For the price you can't beat these.

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

There's a flat plate that go's between the T bar and a block that mounts to the stand, this may be a weak point that comes loose from time to time, other than that its a pretty straight forward good setup.

Extremely hard to fit into your drumset

By Sam

from Newton, MA USA

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

I have a large pearl drumset. This is a great addition to your set if you can somehow find a good spot for them. The truth is that the rototoms take up to much space and are not portable at all. They are a pain to take a part and very heavy. THey have great capability of tuning and they sound great, but i would not recomend these because i doubt you will find a good spot for them in your kit.

By hjfew

Comments about Remo Rototoms 6", 8" and 10":

These remo roto toms are a great addition for your set. they make great accents and what not. These arent a great replacement for toms though. so if your looking for tom add ons dont get these. my only complaint is the bolt that keeps the toms on the stand. its to small and it never seems to stay inplace
