Availability:

A wide base and an extra-long, up to 92-inch boom extension make this mic stand ideal for any gig.

The Proline Studio Boom Stand is the perfect multi-use mic stand for stage and studio. It's ideal for vocals or instruments that need overhead miking such as drums, cymbals, choirs, pianos, ensembles, and more. The PLSB1's wide-stance, tripod base with sturdy locking casters anchor it securely to the floor. Its large diameter main-shaft tubing extends the stand's height from 53" to 85". The boom arm extends up to 92" to suit any mic position, and the 2.3lb. adjustable weight is the perfect counterbalance for large diaphragm microphones. Just a half-turn of the mic stand's advanced tilt clutch makes changing mic angles quick and easy. Finally, its fully folding lightweight design allows for easy transportation in the compact folded position with no heavy cast-iron base to lug around.

  • Great Microphone boom

As reviewed by CARL MCMILLAN, on 11/15/2011

It is an excellent Microphone Studio Boom, it has a very long reach and wide base for stability. For me it was an easy assembly. The counter weight only needed the set knob to be loosened to easily slide over the shaft. Good price.

  • Almost Garbage

As reviewed by Robert Kyser on 12/18/2012

I have a heavy condenser and a reflection filter (roughly 10 lbs). The vertical and horizontal extension (and locking are fine). The boom counter weight is adequate. The HUGE problem is the boom latch-lock. It is garbage and will not keep the boom from sliding back. ALSO: it will not keep the boom from yawing, which means my setup (even without the reflection filter) drops upside down. I'm not giving it 1 star ONLY because I'm still using it till I buy another one (by rigging it). Poor Quality.

  • Built like a tank...but flawed

As reviewed by Christian Marcelli on 2/1/2011

This mic stand is a tank. It easily holds two condenser mics for overhead applications. Drawbacks: The counterweight didn't fit properly and had to be forced on. Instructions were useless or non-existent. The counterweight didn't fit, but I didn't know if there was some "trick" to getting it on the boom. Who knows! They didn't include instructions for that! Not cool for a $150 stand. Of course, the thing is built like a tank!
