This Pork Pie Snare Drum features a solid, one-piece quilted maple shell with jaw-dropping figuring; chrome-plated solid brass tube lugs; a Remo drumhead; and Pork Pie snare wires. Maple reinforcing rings add to shell stability.
After a long debate of which drums should I buy, I finally decided to get this pork pie solid quilted maple snare. I am the type of drummer who wants the best in every piece of my drums. I do not buy anything that has something in it that I do not like. This drums have every quality that I like for a snare drum. I call the sound of this drum "soft hybrid". If you tune this drum mid low, it would produce whip sound(good recording). and if you tune it very high, you will get soft crisp defined sound (for live performance). This snare do not have buzz unless you tune it really low. Also, after fine tuning this drums, you will get very very very low overtones. The main thing me and my band mates like about this drums is it is soft and it defines our music style. I like doing rudiments and with this snare, you can survive without the toms.
