better than just dj speakers

By playbase

from lex.ky

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

I own a set of these,I have using them with my band .(southern rock, classic rock, country and blues)I have found these speakers to very reliable in the band situtation. We play 6 nights a week and these things get pounded. I run a cs800 on the tops(peavey 115's)and a qsc 850 on the bottoms(pv118 black widow's) with a rane active crossover.the p.a. is smoking and I am not broke.Djing doesn't push these speakers like live music does. Takes more watts to run it loud when you are live.so here is 2 different prespectives.they work good for dj's and they work great for live.I am off to a gig so everybody I hope this helps you make up your mind about the speakers.if you are just starting out run these full range on tripods with any 500 watt power amp (name brand)and you are in.

Peavey, need I say more?

By Dj Rex

from Lincoln, NE

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

I got a pair of these when i first started djing 3 years ago. Till this day I have not gotten any other speakers to dj with. They're still running strong, and I couldn't ask for more. Sure there are always better speakers out there if your willing to pay that much money. But these truly stand up to the big boys and have a force ready to be reckoned with.

Great Value - Can't be beat.

By Denny

from Norman, Ok

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

I bought a pair of these cabinets to use as for a DJ service. I have used them inside, outside, and used them as a part of a surround sound for outdoor movies. They have always performed and sounded great. I currently drive them with a Peavey PV2600 amp. I added a JBL EON518s sub-woofer and use the built-in crossover to feed the amp. This system sounds and works awesome. I get compliments all of the time.

Peavey... This is whats up

By Tim Arnold

from Flint, Michigan

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

I bought two of these PV115's and... there awesome. These speakers rock all my gigs with clear, crisp sound bridged with my Berhinger PMP2000 mixer. I put drums, vocals, and two guitars through these to equal out the stage sound and they sound amazing. There is one problem in my opinion though, the power handling is only 400 watts... once i hit the 400 watt range the tweeter hangs in there but the sub gets a little muddy. but this just means i need to purchase some subs. but if your looking for some alltogether good sounding speakers i would go with the ones with the dual subs... PV215, 3 way something... but i would definately recomend these to anyone who is looking for cheap, crisp, clear sounding speakers for small 200 people gigs.

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

Clear sound. I purchased this one to replace an old TOA from the 90's. The tone is much better. I used it for a gig and it sounded great. I also used it to dj a large party. The trapezoid shape makes it easy to use as a stage monitor with one concern, watch for feedback from the large tweeter. We spun the tweeter away from the mic and now the drummer can hear at rehearsals. It uses 1/4" jacks with an output to chain if needed. I plan on getting a matching speaker after the next gig.

PEAVEY, YOU MAKE OUR SOUND COMPLETE

By POTROAST

from CHINO

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

WOW!! IS ALL I CAN SAY..... WE HOOKED UP OUR YAMAHA EMX312 POWERED MIXER TO TWO PV115's AND WE'RE NOW A REAL GARAGE BAND. WE KNEW THAT PURCHASING NEW SPEAKERS WOULD HELP, BUT THIS IS CRAZY!!! AND IT DIDNT DRAIN MY BANK ACCOUNT. OUR NEXT PURCHASE IS GOING TO BE THE PV112 MONITORS... I MEAN HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU TRY THESE SPEAKERS BEFORE SPENDING A BUNDLE ON SOMETHING MAYBE LESS DEPENDABLE.FYI, WE CAN ONLY TURN THIS AMP UP HALF WAY OR THE COPS COME.

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

Were looking for some new speakers and thought we would give these guys a try. I never really cared for Peavy but the great price pulled me in. These speakers are awesome and sound even better with a good EQ. Great job Peavy, once I get more cash I will purchase the subs.

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

just picked up a pair of these and spent some time "dialing" them in. more bass than i'm used to,but once i got all the volumes and equalizer set up, they sound great!! i haven't gigged with them yet but don't see any reason not to. one small thing, the Peavey logo on one speaker is loose and causes a bit of rattle.i'll probably stick some chewing gum behind it or something and live with it like that.

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

I bought 6 if these speakers for my church. I power 4 of them up with a Crown XTi4000 and the other 2 with a QSC 2600 on channel 1. they sound great!. It really improved the sound for the church. we have bands coming in now wanting to play concerts with us. I installed them as a Left-Right configuration 3 per side. hanging from the ceiling. Excellent price for the buck. I also put them together. I'll share pictures later. great buy.

best speaker on market for price

By chris skiver

from columbus, ohio

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

bought one of these to replace a Yamaha that blew out. ended up buying a second and trading my Yamaha that wasn't blown for cash towards new cables. Best speakers I ever bought in this price range, can't go wrong with peavey. been using my set for over two years at loud volumes, large venues to small they handle it all (running off a mid 90's peavey cs800 amp)

Best sounding 15 inch 2 way speakers for the price

By RICHARD LAMB

from Fife, Washington

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

I just purchased 2 of these speakers and man these boxes sound awesome. The midrange frequencies are phenomenal, the bass is clean and punchy without the exaggerated boominess. I let my subs take care of that. When I set my crossover at 120HZ for these cabinets they sound so smooth and rich that I can pump much more than the recommended wattage requirements for them without clipping. These PV115's can really fill a room. I can't wait for the weather to break so that I can try them outdoors. I only have one bad thing to say about them and that is that they don't have speakon connectors. I modified the connector plate in the back of the cabinets to accommodate that. There is plenty of room on the connector plate to add a speakon connector, so much so that 2 speakon connectors can be added. Just keep in mind that doing so will probably void the warranty. I'm not really concerned with that because for the price that I paid and the reliability of Peavey products (5 year warranty when registered at their web site) this shouldn't be an issue.

Amazing.

By DJ Alex

from Brownsville, TX

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

i bought 2 of these a couple of days ago. i took them home, hooked them up with my peavey 800-watt mixer power amp. i cant even get past volume 2 without the house beginning to rumble and the neighbors complaining. it goes all the way up to volume 10, so i cant imagine how much more power it has. i recommend this to any Intermediate or Pro DJ, cuz these things roar. These speakers are a powerhouse.

Excellent

By Andre Wagner

from Beavertown, PA

Comments about Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet:

I bought a pair of these for larger mobile DJ gigs and to back up my 12" Wharfdale Pro Titans. I've had them for less than a year but I can say they work great. They have the usual slight humming but other than that great sound. Some additions that would give it a 5 star review would be the addition of RCA inputs, another xlr/1/4" input, and low and high control.
