at our church we decided to convert our drum kit to a digi kit. used these with ddrum triggers. sounded great, handled great but started to rip within a month. i guess they work well for more reserved players, but then again they aren't the ones that need to be quieted we found we could get the same effect by just filling the drum shells with linens and use normal heads. this is not as quiet but once everything is going, all you hear is the triggers anyway.

Absolutely perfect

By Mike Roberts

from South Bend, IN

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

These heads were perfect for my practice kit. I also tested these on an electronic kit and they worked flawlessly. I LOVE these heads. Silent enough for 3 A.M. practice. Just enough volume to tune. And by volume, I mean, well... One could play a thrash beat, and their parents/roommates could still watch TV on the same floor. But in silence, the player can hear them just fine. It's great for getting patterns, fills, solos, and basic rudiments down. Highly recommended! Also, again, awesome for electronic kits like the Alesis DM5Pro, or any Roland kit with mesh heads. (8" is the size for the DM5Pro)

Perfect for ddrums

By Joseph Newton

from Eden Prairie, MN

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

I have a discontinued ddrum electronic drum kit with mesh heads. When the original mesh heads wore thin and started to puncture, it broke my heart. Then I found these. The Pearl MFH Mesh Heads worked as the perfect replacement for my ddrum mesh heads. I am very, VERY happy that I can continue to play my old ddrum kit. These are great mesh heads and for an incredible price. I couldn't be happier.

Best Mesh Yet

By Hoshea R.

from Defianc, Ohio

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

I got these heads for my diy electric kit, and I am in aww of them. Not only are they cheaper than the heads put out out by Roland, Hart Dynamics and other manufactures, but they are better. They feel great. I will definitely buy more.

Perfect for triggering an acoustic kit!!

By jeff

from Pickerington, Ohio

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

These heads are great! I installed 10", 12", 16", and 22 inch heads on my kit and triggered those with on head acoustic triggers which much to my surprise worked as well or better than my last Roland V Drum kit. FIVE star all the way.

Pearl mesh heads

By Dave

from Thayne, Wy.

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

These heads are great for practice or like me, triggering your acoustic drums. Although I love the feel and responce of the head i wish they were more durable. Perhaps a thicker weave or 2 ply. Still, a good head for the money!

Excellent Mesh Heads for ddrums

By Joseph Newton

from Eden Prairie, MN

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

I have a ddrum 4SE electronic drum kit which was discontinued over 10 years ago. I was worried that I would never find replacement mesh heads for it. The Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Heads are not only adequate, they are perfect! And they are only a fraction of the cost of mesh heads for other systems. I am VERY happy that I discovered these and have already put in another order for more. I love my ddrums and thanks to these mesh heads my ddrums will still play on.

Great for quiet play on acoustic kits

By B Wilson

from Austin, TX

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

I am in college and live in an apartment, so I needed something that would let me play quietly. I installed these on all my drums - even the snare - and they are terrific. As expected, they made my drums much quieter. They can actually produce really good tone from your bottom tom heads if you do a good job tuning. They give a little bit more bounce than an ordinary head, but the feel is certainly better than Sound-off or similar products that lay on top of the head and just go "thud."

Not perfect, but very good

By JZ

from SLC, UT

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

Overall: I have used these for quiet practice for years. Excellent. Buy them. Pros: Excellent durability and low volume. Cons: Too much rebound on the kick drum heads(even at loose tension) makes for a slightly unrealistic lively rebound. I find a hidden benefit of this is it requires a bit more control than normal for kick drum practice.

No need to waiste your money on roland or Hart Dynamics Mesh Heads.

By Elijah Stephens

from Stockton, ca

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

These are great heads and you can beat the price. Dont waiste your money on roland or hart dynamics heads. I have an Alesis DM10 and Ive been using these heads on it for about 3 months now and they are still going strong. Depending on the music I play; sometimes I beat the hell out of these and they hold up just fine. I was nervous about these heads because of the price but Im so amazed at how durable they really are. They are more rebound that mylar heads, but honestly I like it. Once you get you use to the extra rebound, it gives you a little bit of an advantage. I hear people say these heads bust on them after a month. Honestly I think those people were using frayed or broken sticks. Oh and if you are using this head for you kick drum, make sure you use a wood, plastic, or solid rubber beater. The felt beater tugs at the head a little for some reason and over time will wear into it

broke right away

By Michael Wyskida

from Syracuse, NY

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

installed it on my alesis digital drum.....broke the second time I used it! In addition, it had a kind of mushy feel might be ok for toms but if you like a nice snappy snare or you play hard this is NOT the right head for you

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

I use these on my practice kit so I can still have friendly neighbors. I bought a full set for my 5 piece kit. I also put Remo Muffls under the heads just for a slightly more realistic feel and to take some of the bounce out. Now they feel very natural and I don't even notice they aren't my usual heads. I've been using these for a long time and the seem to be holding up very well. Next plan is to add some triggers and a processor to make an acoustic kit electronic and not have to spend $5+ Grand on a natural electronic kit.

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

Needed mesh head for practice (live in a townhome) The head is fine - just wish they would have them in the store. Also - packaging for shipping war ridiculous - could have fit a... well, it was WAY oversized and a complete waste of resources. Good thing I recycle.

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

I didn't give 5 stars because I've only put about an hour on this head, and I don't know about the life span, but everything else is high quality. I use it for the intended, "silent" practice, and this head really really cuts down the typical decibels on acoustic drums, and i love to hit this hard, due to the low volume and rebound! I also use it with a Simmons "piezo" type pick up and it works great! Just stick it onto this head and it translates the sounds from your trigger head without adding volume to the room (unless thru a PA). Very good quality and fits well, tunes like a normal head.

        Best option for an apartment

        By Todd

        from NC

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

Feels more like a drum head than rubber mufflers. Hold up pretty well on toms and snare, but bass drum needs some reinforcement...broke one with a felt beater after not much use. If youre tired of hearing neighbors complain, than this is a much better option than getting an electric kit or the muffle pads.

        quiet practice

        By Sam Mc Gee

        from new york

Comments about Pearl MFH Mesh Tom Head for Rhythm Traveler Drum:

these heads work well if you want to practice quietly, the bass drum head works best with a hard plastic beater, the felt beaters get eaten by the mesh material I use these on a pearl rhythm traveller kit in my apartment
