The Eliminator Demon Drive bass drum pedal was engineered to create the most seamless link between the player's musical ideas and his or her execution on a bass drum. Whether seeking to deliver lightning-fast blast beats or deep, rock-solid grooves, this Pearl drum pedal offers the adjustability to maximize your playing in any style.
Play a Pearl Demon Drive and the first thing you'll notice is its smoothness. The Demon Drive gets its incredible smoothness and speed through the use of ultra-precise hardware components. Self-aligning spherical bearings are used to insure the footboard and the Direct link drive are always in perfect alignment. Its zero-latency Z-Link Drive Shaft's U joints, and special super-high-speed Ninja bearings on the axles all work in perfect sync to create one of the smoothest and fastest pedals on the planet.
The most unique feature of the Demon Drive drum pedal is Pearl's exclusive Duo-Deck, the world's first convertible footboard. With a simple adjustment, the Demon Drive pedal can be adjusted from a traditional shortboard to a longboard pedal in seconds, offering a slightly lighter, quicker feel that is the preferred setup when speed is a necessity.
This bass pedal includes the world's first two-position Beater Stroke Adjustment and two-position Direct Link Adjustment. Both allow the player to create a slightly lighter or heavier feel of the pedal depending on their preferred setting. Adjusting the Duo-Deck in combination with the Beater Holder and Direct Link Adjustments yields 8 possible pedal configurations, allowing the player to truly create their ideal feel.
The Click Lock spring tension system prevents the tension knob from loosening. The Traction Plate, which has aluminum traction dots, is fully adjustable for the amount of slip or grip you want . Its footboard height-adjustment capability enables you to loosen and rotate the footboard to the desired height. And finally, the Pearl pedal comes standard with a Carrying Case to protect it from the wear and tear of travel.
Note: Slave pedal may need stabilization with the PS-85 Pedal Stabilizer.

I have taught double bass for many years. I have personally purchased several double bass pedals in the quest to find the perfect pair. I have performed many bearing upgrades on my pedals and my students pedals to make them more playable. I can honestly say that these pedals are the very best right out of the box. Once dialed in whatever is in your heart to play can come out of your feet without compromise. No matter what your style it is designed to adapt. Thank you Pearl!

With the 12yr.old IC's getting older, I decided to go new. Direct drive is far from new (the 70's)but marketing has demands so re-enter the era.I think the reason these pedals went out in the first place is the lack of power. The demons are super smooth but cheap feeling under the feet.I don't care what any one says, they will NEVER feel like chain driven eccentric cams. These increase power as they approach the head which makes your job as the drummer easier. The directs assist with the rebound allowing for a quick second strike.I want both in a pedal and the demons are built for speed only.Problem is, chain drive doubles all have serious play in their linkage.Side by side with a Trick proV,the demons got smoked.Sorry Pearl lovers but it's true.Develop your technique and you can play on ANY pedal but it's either got power or it doesn't.Both have serious adjustments and I got the Trick to have power, couldn't with the demon. Both linkages are great with zero and I mean zero play. But the Tricks were better balanced(slave to master), smoother and yes, faster due to the compression spring.Sliding the track assembly back farther gave it chain drive feel with direct drive speed.I will have to get used to the Trick's quickness,it's that fast. Sorry Pearl, I can't believe all these people love your pedals...they are weak with only TWO beater stroke adjustments-1) fast and 2)heavy and slow, with lack of power in each.Nice features but my guess is they aren't really being used by endorsees.Axis has the variable drive for power and the Tricks are just absolutely ridiculously awesome all the way around. You decide but don't say you weren't warned. if you have to play Pearl, I'd check out the Eliminator instead.Otherwise Tricks will make your left foot stronger and is the closet thing I've experienced to a comprimise between direct and chained offset cam. No way Jordison REALLY uses Demons, no way...couldn't get that heavy strike like he gets with his Cobras(BTW, still great pedals).Don't believe the hype with the Demons.Try them next to a Trick, spend hours with both(for adjustments-you will need the time)and tell me I'm wrong.I hear Trick customer service is unparalled as well. Good luck with what ever you decide and rock on!

I saved for months to buy this pedal and all I can say is that this thing has to be beyond any gods creation. It is a masterpiece. When I got the pedal set up my feet played so easily and fast that it was pathetic. I had to take a day to learn how to control myself because all previous pedals I've played on took so much power and when I tried to apply "normal" to this pedal, I couldn't even keep time because the pedal was so easy and great. I would tell anyone to buy this pedal and that it is the best thing there ever going to rest their feet on no matter what they've had before. This pedal allows you to stop worrying about power and feel and let's you focus on your music. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, maybe like one of the reviews says, it's more responsive. That's based on my iron cobras that overbuilt my left side to make up for the extremely sluggish IC slave. The Demon makes you feel so connected to the bass drum with NO loss of power. Do you experience loss of power playing live? It's called a microphone.
This demon drive is fast the first month you have it. After that it gets dusty and not good. I didn't feel any power just light taps not powerful hits.
I have played DW 5000, Iron Cobra's, Camco and the Ludwig Speed King starting out and this pedal by far provides the smoothest action with the direct drive link (all of these other pedals are great for heel up I believe). It is really hard to describe the feel for heel down players, but all I can say is whatever I am thinking about playing I can pretty much pull it off with this pedal due to the action. The first day I had the pedal I could not play it at all, then I removed the factory beaters, put on my Iron Cobra beaters and loosened the spring tension and have never touched the pedal. The pedal also provides endless settings for: heavier/ligher feel, footboard height, beater stroke angle, spring tension, etc., all independent of each other. One thing I would suggest is loosening up the allen screws on the primary pedal and sliglty move it to the right. The direst drive may sometimes rub against the double pedal seconday beater holder depending up how the pedal connects to your bass drum, how heavy you play the pedal, ect. Chain drive pedals are great, but for whatever reason if you play heel down, the action is so much smoother with the direct drive linkage. I can say I was looking for a new pedal for quite awhile, never considered this and was shocked at how great it feels. I struggled with the chain drive systems but really feel my playing has improved 100% since getting this direct drive pedal.
I first bought this pedal and thought it was fine, then little things I didnt like started to crop up so I went back to my other pedal. One day I decided I was going to work through ALL of the adjustments until I am happy with it. It took about 3 weeks of playing it, tweaking it and not only is it dialed in completely to the way I am most comfortable, but I found about 3 other settings that would work for me. This setting has more power, this setting has more speed, ahhh this setting is juuussst right!!! Take the Bull by the horns and take the time to explore this pedal's possibilities, you wont be sorry. If you cant get comfortable on this pedal you'll need to work on your feet!
I got this pedal about a year back and was pretty happy with the performance. The adjustment ability is immensely superior to other pedals (in my opinion). Play around with the adjustment settings to find what works best for you. I play with the long board configuration because I use heal-toe but that's all up to preference. Before buying this pedal you MUST know 3 things. 1 the beaters aren't up to the quality of the pedal..They don't produce enough power and distort shape from circular to semi circle shapes. I bought two Gibraltar wood beaters and they seem to be working great for sound and a slight "heavier" feel. 2 There is a screw that grinds up against the double beater holder that slightly effects its efficiency(you might have to go look at the pedal to know what I'm talking about). And finally don't just buy into the hype of this pedal (even though I did), go test it out and see if it fits you !
I just received my pedal yesterday, and WOW! I'm blown away by the responsiveness the pedal has. It's the smoothest, fastest and most versatile pedal I've yet to play. It's easy to set up and dial in to personal preference, the overall look is great, and most of all its built for to adapt to the musicians' preference, not the musician adapting to to it.
Ok so let me start by saying I went in to try out the dw5000 accelerator pedal and compare them with the Mapex Direct Drive pedal as well as the Yamaha Direct Drive pedal as these were all in my price range. I played with the 5000 for about 20 minutes and although it felt very smooth its seemed a little slow, granted this is without really being able to adjust them much. I liked the Mapex Direct drive pedal but wanted to compare it to one of the higher end pedals and see the difference. I grabbed the demon drive pedal that was on display and got it set up on the kit and immediately knew these were the pedals I wanted, super fast and smooth. Icing on the cake.. the double pedal I tried out happened to be used but in excellent condition so I got them for about half the price.
I have played this pedal for 2 years and all I can say is that I will never use any other pedal. As far as power issues, this pedal plays true to the player. A chain drive may seem to deliver more power, but the drummer is having to use more energy to drive the pedal. With these, you have to work on your footwork, and I mean work HARD. I can play these with ease and produce the same power as a chain drive. Everything is extremely light so speed is not a problem. The lifetime warranty is another thing to be noted. IF by any rare chance there is something wrong, Pearl will fix it no questions asked. I love this pedal and would recommend it to anyone. The feel is wonderful, and if it feels off, it most likely is due to the habits of the drummer. The slave may feel "weak", but it mainly has to do with the left foot being weaker. The pedal is as powerful as it is fast and caters to any player's needs due to the customizability of it. If you are unsure of what is right for you or how to adjust it, pearl's website breaks EVERYTHING down for you. Buy this pedal and you will love it for life, bar none.
I got these pedals At the beginning of this year(2011) and they are probably the best pedals I have ever played on. You can Adjust prety much everything on these pedals, so you can make them have whatever feel you are going for. You can also change them to two single pedals!
