Overview

The PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar features a gorgeous bookmatched, heavily flamed maple veneer (on transparent-finish models) above a maple top and a mahogany back. This tried-and-true wood combination produces great resonance with bold bottom end. The PRS SE Single Cut guitar is enhanced by a wraparound stop tailpiece/bridge for direct transfer of string vibration. PRS-designed humbucker pickups turn all that resonance into nearly endless sustain. Moon fretboard inlays and natural maple top binding add a little Paul Reed Smith flair to the SE Singlecut.

I bought this Guitar 5 months ago.I still reach for this guitar first over any other I own. My friend has the Mccarty and it is one of his favorites. The other night I let him play my SE Single Cut and it nocked his socks off. I think he was trying to justify the 1K difference in price he paid. The pick ups are well balanced the sustain is graet, the tonal highs and lows are fantastic. This is not the american made PRS but it will blow you away. Dollar to performance ratio = 10+. Be carefull, because your gonna want one!

Absolutely terrific

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

This guitar is amazing. I have it in blue, and its stunning. The picture does not do it justice. This guitar plays great. the action is great, the tone is amazing, and it stays in tune pretty well. This was an upgrade from my epiphone les paul special 2, and there is no comparison. The wrap around tail piece is a great feature, and it looks terrific. This guitar is awesome, and for the money, there is nothing better.

Tons Of Tone

By Flame Top

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

Talk about wonderful versatility WOW! Finally a quality guitar for the budget minded masses. Great workmanship, Great looks, and a tone that's as sweet as molasses. Built out of warm Mahogany, with a Maple cap topped with a nice flame veneer for those shimmering highs this guitar fits all styles of music. Wether you play Jazz, Blues or the newer heavy styles this PRS has it covered. The pickups are top notch for a guitar in this price range and the factory set up is as pleasurable as it's appearance. If your looking for quality, Playability, and affordability this should be your weapon of choice. Great Job PRS !!!

I bought one of these ...

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I bought one of these about two weeks ago. All I can say is, Wow! I am mainly a strat player, but have also owned american made les pauls, and paul reed smiths. I wanted to get a les paul/set neck mahagony type guitar just for variety. This is a great alternative to spending 2K or more on a Gibson or real PRS. I am using the stock pickups and they sound quite good. I am of course tempted to replace them with Gibson, Seymour Duncan, or PRS pickups just because this would supposedly sound better. When i play this guitar next to my American strats, it fits right in sound quality and tone wise. I don't feel like it is an inferior instrument and for giving me more variety it is just awesome for the price.

Great value

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

While not having some of the features of the much more expensive singlecut, it is missing nothing in playablity. I own a couple of PRS guitars, all way more expensive. Yet it's the first one I pick up, and the last one I put away. Great action, very good tone & sustain. Also beautiful to look at. A great value....

Great "everything" guitar

By Jeremy S.

from Dallas, TX.

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

About a year ago, I went shopping for a Les Paul or Strat as something different to play. I was disheartened by the price that even used ones were fetching. I went into GC and played a few, but wasn't overly impressed. The salesman handed me a black PRS SE Singlecut as I was about to leave. This guitar just "felt" right. Played great, sounded great, and it looked great. I walked out of the store with it, and it has become my "everything" guitar... a true workhorse. When I jam with my friends, they love playing it as well. The PRS SE Singlecut really is one of the best values there is, for all kinds of music. If your budget can only allow you to have one guitar, this will probably be it. If you can afford more guitars, you should still have this one just because you will like playing it.

Nothing special

By Luckydog

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I'm not impressed. I own a PRS SE soapbar II Maple and was looking to add a crunchy humbucker guitar to my collection. This isn't all its cracked up to be. It sounds OK. To me it is not an awesome sounding guitar. The machine head tuners stink and its a shame that PRS builds a nice guitar that can't stay in tune. Once you replace the tuners its a nice guitar - no question. This is not a piece of junk. Its otherwise a nice guitar. My complaint is the price + paying for new tuners is too close to the Gibson Vintage Mahogany which blows this guitar away. Gibson Vintage Mahogany is U-G-L-Y, but the pickups are way hotter and simple a better instrument. Vintage Mahoganies can be gotten for $699 and the PRS Singlecut is $599+ tuners and your sweat to replace them or paying someone to do it for you. In essence the same cost.

Best in class! or even two classes above!

By Jarhog

from California

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I decided to trade the worn brown Les paul in on the PRS SE single cut. Wanna know why? In my opinion, PRS has the lock on progression in refining the classic styling of les paul type guitars. The PRS SE Singlecut's Fit, finish, sound, and playability are simply superior to Gibsons lower line les pauls(yes Gibson not Epiphone). The Clarity of the tone even through heavy saturation is amazing. Listen, I'm as Patriotic as A man can Get, but with my Iraqi War earned money I'm gonna get the most quality I can get without spending enough to buy a nice used car on a guitar! I agree the tuners aren't first class but you still gotta tune the "g" string on a LP every song too!

Great

By LUkeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

from Tempe, AZ

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I really like this guitar. It sounds amazing for a blues/jazz feel, but it sounds like a golden city of rock n' roll. Its Vibrato sounds amazing. I have a Fender Strat, and I'd have to say this guitar is better for stuff like bluesy and jazz, but if someone wants to play rock, this guitar is as good as the strat. Sounds good for stuff like b.b. king, and yes. So a big difference. Metal players- stay away from this guitar.

PRS SE Review

By xmario_sx

from Denton, Tx

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

As far as an introduction to PRS guitars the SE Singlecut is a great guitar that surpasses all guitars for it's light weight and versatility on sound. The toggle switch allows for a bass, mid, treble range. The stock PRS humbuckers are low end PRS stock but of the highest quality and have a really great sound; crisp clean sound. I played this guitar on a Fender CyberTwin SE using built in effects and sounded absolutely breathe-taking. Fretboard is made of rosewood and the body is made of mahogany which makes for a light guitar. This guitar delivers a great package for a fraction of the cost.
