The DC 22 combines Paul Reed Smith's original Santana body shape, a 22-fret neck length, and a stoptail for a beautiful and distinctive guitar.

PRS DC 22 guitar appointments include a 10-Top highly figured, bookmatched maple top, lightweight mahogany back, 24-1/2" scale, mahogany neck, East Indian rosewood fretboard, bird inlays, a Modified Santana neck carve, and the thin, hard, clear V12 finish.

PRS Stoptail bridge
Designed to take full advantage of the resonant properties of its guitars, the PRS Stoptail Bridge provides direct transmission of string vibration to the guitar body and makes set-up a breeze. This bridge features slots that recess the strings comfortably as they pass over the top, in a gentle curve. Although it is pre-compensated for modern string gauges, further fine-tuning is possible by adjusting the set screws at each end of the bridge. Action height is adjustable by raising or lowering the studs the bridge sits on.

PRS 59/09 pickups
Originally added to Paul Reed Smith Guitars' 1957/2008 series line of pickups, the PRS 59/09s offer a slightly darker and more powerful sound in the bridge with a touch more clarity and brightness in the neck. PRS wanted to provide the same vibe as the revered 1957/2008, but with additional output for players wanting to drive the amp's front end a little earlier, while providing a wider spread of tone between the neck and bridge pickups.

These pickups are made from PRS' exclusive wire produced on the original machine used to make classic '50s era pickups. They incorporate proprietary winding and magnet innovations to produce iconic sounds with unique tonality.

V12 Finish
The finish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood's inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. And PRS Guitars' new "V12" finish does just that. Introduced at Experience PRS 2010, "V12" is a very thin, hard, and clear finish that will not crack or react with thinners. After roughly 12 years in development, it is halfway between acrylic and nitro but with a classic feel all its own. "PRS models with this new finish feel like old instruments," said Paul Reed Smith.
