I've always been a Vic Firth guy, but I decided to try a set of Pro Mark 5B American Hickory. They lasted for over a year with out breaking. I had both of them cracked, but they held together. I usually play rock or heavy metal. These sticks sound awesome for rim shots and they grip awesome. I recently bought another set of 5B Vic Firth sticks and snapped them in half the first week. Go with Pro Mark!

I tried these sticks after a recommendation from my friend. Much to my dismay, they were really light and soft, and I usually play harder rock. These broke within the first three days, compared to my usuall Vic Firth sticks, which last me about a month. I tried another pair thinking I just got a bad pair, but those broke after a week so I just think I'll stick to my Vics.

Comments about PROMARK American Hickory Drumsticks:

I love the hickory drumsticks I've used zildjian, Vic verths, pro sound, but there is no other kind of drumsticks like Promark. these sticks are so durable, you could shred your drumset for a many months and they wont snap or break on you. I Love promark i would use these stucks and not worry about them snapping on me the first time I use them. Im confident on using these drums and i would recommend them to anyone.

        Amazing Drums Sticks!

        By

Comments about PROMARK American Hickory Drumsticks:

I'v been using Promark drums stick sense i'v started playing. I play a bit of everything but mainly metal and they hold up to the hardest beatings. I have used other brands before but nothing compare to my Promarks. My 5B sticks have held up very well, I can beat as hard as I can and not fear they will break. I recommend Promark to anyone who wants drum sticks that will give you an amazing sound, hold up for a very long time, and just feel great!

        Great sticks but aren't industructable

        By

        from Austin, Texas

Comments about PROMARK American Hickory Drumsticks:

Honestly I've been true to Pro-mark but they break alot and splinter really easily. Vic firth is the same way though. pro mark/ Diaddario will work with you as a customer more than vic firth or any other main brand stick company. making it the stick to go for.

        Great Sticks for the Price

        By

Comments about PROMARK American Hickory Drumsticks:

I have had these for about 4 months and except for a few dings, they are holding up great. I have tried all the expensive Vic Firth models (Danny Carey, Shogun Jap White Oak, etc.) and have had nothing but problems with them. Tips coming off, wood tips breaking/cracking, and Shogun models snapping in half. These Pro Marks are less money and stand up to the beating of heavy hitting rock music. Others are not worth the $$ Vic Firth is overrated in my opinion.

These have been my personal choice for years. There's no need to look for something else when you have a fantastic drum stick that's suitable for many musical styles. For anyone new to these sticks, try 'em because you won't be disappointed.

        Best Sticks Ive Ever Used

        By

        from San Bruno, California

Comments about PROMARK American Hickory Drumsticks:

I started using the 5B wood tips about two months ago, bu far the best sticks I have used. I used the Ahead 5A's but I always kept breaking the nylon tip off of those sticks even with a touch of super glue. I guess its because I'm a hard hitter and thats a subjective thing for me. The Promarks paired with a roll of stick wrap are perfect for me. The diameter is perfect of drummers wanting more power and projection out of their drums. These drumstickes exceeded my expectations as far as feel, function, durability, and enhancing the sound from my drums. If anyone asked me which stick would be best for them, I would say "PROMARK 5B WOOD TIP ALL THE WAY"

Pretty good sticks, not very durable

        By

        from dedham, MA

Comments about PROMARK American Hickory Drumsticks:

these sticks are pretty good, they have a good feel and are very lightweight. On the other hand there not very durable, i use the 5b's and i break them within an hour and 1/2 of aggressive playing. I would recomend these to jazz-soft rock drummers, i play metal and there just not strong enough.
