The Michael Kelly Legacy Festival Mandolin is a classic F-Style mandolin made in Michael Kelly's long-lasting tradition of quality. A solid hand-carved spruce top and solid maple body give this mandolin amazing tonal vibrance and clarity, while the radiused rosewood fingerboard makes it easy to play. Pearl dot inlays, high-quality Grover tuners and an ABS nut contribute to the instrument’s beauty, stability and superior sound. Michael Kelly's own proprietary one-piece tailpiece gives the mandolin added resonance and allows for easy string changes.   • beautiful mandolin, unplayable, but pretty

    when i looked at this mandolin in the store, it was beautiful, sounds wonderful, but the action was a bit high. i thought, no worries, a little truss rod adjustment, tweak the bridge, action is still a mile high. to top it off the 12th fret is dead. brand new instrument, dead fret. I'm in the process of exchanging for a new one, and i will be closely examining it before leaving the store. not saying that these are bad instruments, but check it out before buying! they are made in china, and may be lacking some quality control standards. these quality issues should not be occurring in an instrument of this price. i have a $100 mandolin that plays better, it does not sound as good, but plays better (though it also has dead frets, which is why i bought a new mando in the first place)
