The Michael Kelly Acoustic Bass Hardshell Case is specifically made to fit all Michael Kelly acoustic basses. Form-shaped plywood shell with heavy Tolex exterior and plush interior.
Very sturdy. A good fit w/ a little extra room around the head stock. Padded handle and gun metal gray latches are a nice touch. It's a little longer than it needs to be, and doesn't quite balance at the handle, but it's well-made and will survive airline travel.
Some of the clasps will slide off of their hooks in the locked position, potentially leading to an unexpectedly open case and potential disaster. Also, balancing on the handle would be nice. If there is another case that will fit your very pretty base, get it instead.
I just received this case yesterday so I can't comment on how well it will hold up over time, but intially it seems to be a very well made case. This is not a flight case by any means, but it is a very good acoustic case. It's made just as well or better than any others I have seen. I believe it will protect my MK Firefly without any problem. The inside has extra padding were needed and fits my bass like a glove. The hardware (clasp, etc...) seems to be of very good quality. I am very satisfied and I would purchase this case again.
