The Mb20 Crash Cymbal has a mix of explosive power and tone for cutting projection.

Meinl's Mb20 series was created for one reason-high volume. The weights are all on the heavier side for that reason. But anyone can make a loud ride cymbal, the magic with the Mb20 series is that they are still musical and they feel good to play. The cymbals are handmade in Turkey using the traditional B20 bronze alloy and then the polishing process is performed in Germany. The finish is a super brilliant finish-perfect for stage lights, and Meinl has a special two-step buffing process. The cymbals are perfect for anything loud.

  • B20 bronze alloy
  • Hand hammered into shape
  • Brilliant finish

Heavyweight Champion

By Christopher Y

from Woodbridge, VA

This thing is bulky, loud, bright, and powerful. This cymbal responds to soft attack with a great wash of low darkness with bright overtones to mingle with. When you get on them hard: they respond with hard sound. These things were made for live sound (especially heavy stuff) due to their overall durability/versatility/projection. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Meinl 20 & 22 Inch Heavy Crash

By Alexander Zawadski

from Alexandria, Va.

I've had the Meinl 20 & 22 Inch cymbals for about a year now. WOW! There is no sound quite like them anywhere else out there. The crisp and Full sustain on the 20" is out of this world. The 22" is just a monster. I complimented them with a 19" Paiste Rude thin crash, 20" Meinl Byzance Extra thin crash, 21" Meinl Med. Traditional crash, Paiste Blue Bell Ride, and Paiste Giant Beat high hats. The whole set-up sounds amazing together, but the Meinl Heavy Crashes take the cake... If your looking for an explosive, and incredibly full sound, Get The Mb 20's!!!

High level of cymbal innovation

By Brain Dezak

from Joliet, IL

I bought the 20" version of this crash. Obviously, MB20's are top of the line cymbals, so their going to sound great. I am going to keep this review very simple: Many cymbal companies can create a super loud and powerful cymbal, but they usually end up sacrificing sound quality for sound volume when this process occurs. The aspect which sets MB20 crashes apart from its competitors is that sound quality is not lost. They are super loud and powerful, but also maintain an extremely high level of sound quality. Cymbals have come a long way, but this achievement by Meinl is a milestone for cymbal innovation. They truly are a rock or metal drummer's dream cymbal. You get the best of both worlds.

Awesome Sound

from Culpeper, VA

I bought this on a wimb based on a lot of research. I am more impressed with it than what I had heard of it online. It cuts, is bright, warm, and has a good sustain, but is not overdone.

Zildjian Sabian Paiste < Meinl

By Tony

from yelm WA

Meinl mb20 Heavy crashes are the loudest, bright, and dark crashes I have ever played. They keep the same tone throughout hitting them. No cheap pansy overtones. They are crisp and LOUD. I canۡt play them without my headset or I will go deaf. The 20 inch heavy crash is so beautifully heavy. It cuts thru pretty much anything and the 18 inch heavy crash clashes perfectly with the 20. I recommend these crashes for hard hitting players who enjoy hardcore music like ADTR, or Tdwp. these things git r' done!!!!

Great crash cymbals!

By Mason

from CT

I highly recommend at least one of these cymbals! But I have two! The mb20 20" heavy crash bought brand new from here is very shiny, and loud, it makes a very dark and deep crash sound. I think it is actually something that would stand out against people using American cymbals. It looks awesome, sounds awesome and was worth the three bills. After enjoying my mb20 20" heavy crash, I bought another, a mb20 18" crash. It is just awesome, but I do have to mention that it is so much louder then all my other cymbals, way louder then the 20 inch, which is much more tame this cymbal makes a sound that makes your ears want to bleed, in a good way. Earplugs are more necessary for the 18 inch heavy crash then the 20 inch. The 20 and the 18 inch crash sound awesome when you hit them together with a bass drum note, just so you know. They are both awesome and I don't think I could really say one is better then the other. I bought the 18 inch one used and it was very tarnished especially in the hammer marks, which is kind of cool, even though I wish it was as shiny as the brand new 20 inch :)/

Words can't describe how powerful and rich the sound is from this crash. I've been looking into Meinl for a long time and decided to go for it and buy the 19 inch version of this. This cymbal exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for a loud, powerful cymbal that can get the job done, then get this cymbal immediately. You will not be disappointed. You MUST wear ear protection when you play this.

This cymbal is simply outstanding. It really is a very versitile crash from soft hits to a thunderous attack with a hard hit The MB20 delivers. It's beefy do to its heavier weight and the finish is outstanding. When your holding it your thinking to yourself " Now this is a cymbal" . Meinl clearly delivers the goods with this line showing it can equal anything the big three put out. I play Rock it's what this cymbal was made four. This will not be my last MB20 purchase. My hats off to Meinl , Instead of saying the big 3 I will now start saying the big 4. Check them out you won't be sorry.

Meinl is an amazing cymbal company. I'v got this Crash in a 17" and 18" and love them both i havnt had much time to mess with the 18" but from what i have it's just as great as the 17". There both vary powerful but can be really mellow as well they work perfectly for Metal and Jazz alike. Vary vary musical Cymbals. I would Recommed this crash to anyone.
