Comments about Meinl FX Pedal with 10 Sound Options:

I have gone through 2 pedals in less than two weeks. They keep breaking on the first show I use them. This put me in a bad situation at two shows and I will never buy one again.

Comments about Meinl FX Pedal with 10 Sound Options:

Does exactly what is advertised. Some patches sound much louder than others so you won't be likely changing that within a song. The pedal is hard to trigger with your shoe's heel on the floor rather than on the pedal. It seems sturdy enough to support your weight if it had to. On the minus side, the Chinese build quality is sloppy. The circular logo is off kilter and the volume knob arrived with the chassis bent where it is bolted through. Looks to me like the packing was poorly designed to protect that pot. Hopefully the circuit board behind the pot is not bent too. I gave it as a gift to the other half of my acoustic duo. He seems happy with it and I'm not pushing to send it back as I think another one would likely have the same issues.

Comments about Meinl FX Pedal with 10 Sound Options:

This pedal is well constructed and solid. The base keeps it stable and it doesn't move around. The bass sound is what I mostly use it for in a 3 piece acoustic setup. The bass tone is nice and clear as well as a deep "thump" type sound. This is also easy adjusted via your eq on your soundboard. It's exactly what I was looking for vs a not so great "stompbox" type item. My foot stays on the pedal pretty well and it's as easy as tapping your foot as long as you have the correct foot placement. The pedal also has a nice volume knob as well as 9 other sounds that I may eventually integrate. I'd say it's a quality piece of gear if you're looking to multitask while you play/sing.

          perfect percussion accompaniment

          By Michael Plourde

Comments about Meinl FX Pedal with 10 Sound Options:

I don't want to give it a full 10 only because I think several of the sounds will never get used. The sounds where they are triggered both on the down swing and then on the upswing seems impractical to ever get the timimn right. A drummer friend of mine tried it and feels the same way. And why wouldn't a side stick snare sound be included?? Solo performers like me would love that sound included rather than the funky kick bass on setting #2. I do love the pedal and have been hoping someone would make a pedal like this Meinl FX.
9 out of 10 percussion sounds are very good. #2 is supposed to be some kind of elecrtonic kick but I can't imagine anyone wanting to use it. I really wish that Meinl had included a side stick snare as that would be useful. This pedal feels very rugged and the travel is very little so it can be used without tiring my ankle.
So far it seems like a perfect 10 in quality. Great kick sound which is the main reason I got it. I perform mostly solo and wanted to add a kick bass sound. The pedal also is quite flat so that makes it easier to use. If it were higher it would be very tiring to operare through 3 or 4 sets.
Wish this were available for less money but it does feel very rugged and the percussion sounds are very good. The Meinl FX pedal will add a lot to my solo performances.

          Mediocre at best

          By Matt Arnold

          from Dayton, OH

Comments about Meinl FX Pedal with 10 Sound Options:

The sounds are passable, but not inspiring. But worst of all, this not a velocity sensitive trigger -- so, one volume only. That's a show stopper for an acoustic gig. I guess if you need a pedal that will consistantly make a noise at a constant level, this would be useful -- but, frankly, I can't think of a musical situation where I would use such a device.
