Great Amplifier, Great Value

Let me preface by saying I had to sell my Marshall Tube Combo for financial reasons, if you want a tube amp this isn't one but still some very nice Marshall tones. First is the tone. All four channels have a very nice, warm tone. Crunch & OD1 are my current faves because I've moved away a little from the super high gain tone. But I do love OD2, which is very high gain while retaining good note articulation. All four channels seem to have an innate ability to copy some of the classic Marshall Amps of the past, within reason. They all sound 100 Times better than a Blackstar modeling amp I tried and returned. I've read a review that complained about single note articulation, obviously you need good pickups with any amp. Second is the effects. Studio & classic Reverb, Phaser, Flanger, Delay and Chorus. While they aren't as good as stand alone analog pedals, they are very usuable and the best built in effects I've heard on a solid state amp. Lastly is the main thing I love about this amp, simplicity!! No downloading patches and software, not a ton of hard to understand buttons, just simple. You can store a setting for each of the four channels if you wish or go straight manual like I prefer. Overall; great warm tone, four channels, usable effects, great looks and simple design.

has poweful speakers but the sounds are out of tune

bought this because it was the only marshall amp combo available in solid state. Never used a marshall amp bought since it was top brand i bought this one thinking the sound would be top quality but was pretty disappointed. The sounds stay out of tune, their is horrible static noise that never goes away but instead keeps on increasing as you increase the volume. Your guitar may be in tune and working fine but this amp makes it sound like your guitar were out of tune. The noises it produces is messed up. I should of returned it but i opened it up and kept it for a while but had it been over $500 i would of returned it. My old 80's fender amp sounded way better than this marshall amp. The only thing good about this amp was that it produced super power sounds esp. when you hook this up to pc or cellphone to listen to music since its a solid state amp but its the only solid state amp available from marshall since companies like marshall have tried to sell cheaper amps called MODELING AMPS that do not have amps in them but have a computer processing chip that produces weak sound signals like your PC speaker. I'm getting a blackstar solid amp and thought about just getting a fender solid state amp since they are cheaper but was too worried about the speakers in the fenders.

This is a killer little amp. I've retired but still jam on occasion and am getting ready to hit the road in an RV. I needed to downsize and get rid of my old big equipment. This little Marshall is the perfect replacement that fits within my weight limitations. It is loud enough for practice and small venues and could be used in a larger venue if it was miced. The fx are great, the crunch is crunchy and the overdrive kicks butt. Very happy with it.

This amp supplies all the sound I need ! I play for fun , getting serious about again after a bunch of years , clean sound is amazing! Distortion makes you sound like Metalica to Dokken on OD2 lighter distortion on the others comparable to AC/DC to Tom Petty GNR that type of stuff . Having a blast with it !
