simple amp that delivers the goods

I recently decided to downsize from a 50w Marshall JCM 800 combo to something a little more appropriate for use in an apartment. Although I was dreading the transition from an all tube amp to a solid state, I was happy to find that this amp delivers. Definitely recommend it over the 10 Watt model, which I found to sound very flat and cheap. In contrast, this amp has great low end for its size and I feel like Marshall has done a really good job emulating the brightness and punch of a stack, something that even my old Marshall tube amp seems to lack. A lot of people complain about the lack of features on this amp, but for somebody like me, who loves to play AC/DC, it has exactly what I need, nothing more, nothing less. I prefer a simple guitar into amplifier setup with some natural gain, so this amp has just what I was looking for. The gain channel offers a range of decent gain amounts, from just barely breaking up to some modern crunch, although if you wanted super-high gain you would probably want a pedal. Plenty of volume for the casual player (even at a gig you could mike it up). I also really like the headphone jack, which is great for late-night playing. Overall, a surprisingly solid amp that some will find basic, but is perfect for those who prefer that natural Marshall tone without all the bells and whistles.

I just bought this amp today and it is awesome!! It is exactly you want in an amp!! It includes two channels, clean and overdrive. This amp is also great because it comes from a top brand, Marshall. If you are looking for a great Marshall amp at a good price, this is the amp you want!!!!!
Good Amp for the Price

This amp is great for the price. Has a clean and overdrive channel - both sound pretty good. In overdrive you can manually change the amount of gain, bass, middle, and treble so you can play blues, as well as "lighter" metal. I enjoy this amp a lot because I can plug in regular headphones directly to the amp (like I would to say, an iPod). So thats cool. It gets plenty loud and holds the tone which is a great. Only problem is that once volume is all the way up and gain is all the way up on the overdrive channel, the current, I guess, vibrates the strings unneccessarily and slowly makes a loud feedback screech unless the strings are muted. Other than that, sweet amp, would be great in addition with stomp boxes/ effects pedals on the clean channel. Would recommend for practice and one or two man concerts (as in, not full band concerts).
