MXR Distortion +

I got one of these a few weeks ago, and I this thing rocks. I play a lot of Ozzy, BLS, and Metallica stuff and this pedal can do it all. The DS-1 is popular for the price, but this has the better tone! I would perfer Dunlop/MXR over BOSS any day!

Little But Incredible!

This classic mustard yellow box has always had its own loud voice in the expansive distortion universe. The magic of the Distortion Plus is the abilty to schizophrenically pull off various personalites of overdrive, distortion, or fuzz depending on the rig you're running through. From the scooped metal madness of Randy Rhoads to the creamy streamlined crunch of Sugar, this box, uhhh, molds itself to the your own equipment and style. MXR spent some quality time and really voiced this one well. So much so that the absense of the typical tone knob isn?'t even missed. By twisting a combination of the gain and level knobs you can effortlessly nail the classic valvey chime of ACDC, the deep dark tone of Van Halen, or the relentless raspiness of Rage Against The Machine. This is the unsung heros of the stompbox world and it's ebb and flow popularity has stood the test of time. This is my best buy in my whole life!! is awesome that this thing just only have 2 knobs and do a lot of things...

THIS THE DISTORTION PEDAL

This pedal is great if you want to play "Crazy Trian" or "The House is Rockin'". This pedal has such a great tone. It has a clean hard rock sound that is great for classic rock and roll. This is the pedal that the greats like Jimmy Page used.

MXR Distortion +

The MXR Distortion + is for guys like me, who know the DS-1 just doesn't get the job done. It only has to control knobs, but you can get a world of different tones out of this little pedal regardless. I tried both this one and the vintage script pedal, and this pedal matches up very nicely. If you are looking for a great distortion like that of Page, get this one today.

Good pedal

It's a pretty nice distortion, I think it's a bit different from the DS1, I would buy both, in fact I have them both and I like them the same. I don't like the fact that the output knob limits your signal a lot, but that's not really a problem. What I do think it's that it's a bit expensive, the DOD 250 Preamp/Overdrive does a similar job and it costs only 40 bucks. But it really rocks, good sound, nice construction.
