• Definition of Distortion

  I was skeptical to think that this could be as vertile a distortion as advertised especially without a tone control. I was wrong. This pedal defines Distortion in its purest form. It ranges from a pushed speaker overdrive to a smooth fuzz cranked up. The distortion does not get in the way either and lets your notes articulate. The output on this pedal works much like simple tube amps with Gain and Volume so you can't just set the output at 12 o clock and play with the drive and this is what separates this pedal from the rest of the field. Distortion is gain and when turned down the output should need to be increased, makes sense... Still not the case with other Distortion pedals out there. What about tone you say? Why do other pedals even need a tone knob? They are built to give a consistent output despite the level of gain or distortion you set it at and that robs your signal of tone and on extreme units compresses your signal. Truth is you get all the tone control you need from your guitar and if you really truely need more EQ use your amp. I highly recommend this pedal. It is at a great price and don't pass up this b/c another unit has more knobs and switches! As is the case with most things in life LESS IS MORE! Rock on.

• Big Performance, Small Package

  I bought this pedal for my son 2weeks ago. I have been working with him and getting him set up for ayear. As he has progressed, he has gotten pretty particular about his sound and tone. Well after trying several pedals, he has landed. This little guy gives you that classic Jimmy Page sound to ear bleeding metal sounds. There are no noise intrusions at any level of output and has the best authentic sound for the money. A must have.

  This pedal is great. You can play it alone for a solid rock sound or connect your favorite pedal next to it for mixture and blends of distortions and tone. My preferred combo with this unit is the MXR Dist + Rat or MXR Dist + MXR Blue Box. A+
