I bought this guitar so that I would have one at our cabin in Colorado (the mountains are so much better with a guitar) and I could avoid the "how did my guitar make the flight" worries. I figured that at the price I couldn't lose no matter what. What I didn't figure on was the great tone and feel of this instrument. If you are looking for a first guitar or one to leave somewhere so that you have it in hand for occasional use then this is your best deal. A number of other reviewers have said that the strings would not stay in tune, and for the first short while I thought they were right then I saw that the only problem was a bit of slack in the tailpiece end of the strings. Once I got that straightened out all was great! Bear in mind that this is an inexpensive guitar so it will likely have some minor cosmetic issues, but it plays like a dream. If you are looking for a guitar to see if you or someone else is really interested in playing or you want a guitar to leave somewhere to play occasionally then this is a great guitar!

Bought this as a gift for the granddaughter. With both metal and nylon strings, only the metal strings hold tune. For the low price I'm just hoping it will serve her for the time she takes to decide if she really wants to learn to play the guitar.

satisfactory

By Albachir Dicko

from Las vegas, NM

Comments about Lyons Classroom Guitar:

This guitar is okay. but based on its price I would say it is great. The guitar was new and shiny when it was delivered. nothing broken or damaged. The shipping process was fast, I received the product on time. Some would complain about the strings; yes they go out of tune really fast but with time and after several tune it gets better. The key is to keep tuning the guitar as much as possible in the first days you receive it. Great product I would buy it again if I had to.

Dissapointed

By Bobby Brown

from Seattle

Comments about Lyons Classroom Guitar:

Okay, okay, so for a $50.00 made-in-China guitar, what do I expect, right? Well, there was no option to choose color that I could see when ordering online so assumed it would be no color- wood color, like the default picture on the web site page, but that was not he case. A red guitar showed up. Also, expect to have to tune UP (goes flat) every time you pick it up. My suggestion, for a starter guitar, maybe go up to at least 100.

Lyons Classroom Guitar review

By DALE LANDAN

from Bellflower, Ca.

Comments about Lyons Classroom Guitar:

I picked up this Lyons Classroom Guitar a bit ago. It has a sturdy build and is fairly easy on the eye. I did notice immediately that the nylon strings that came with the guitar would not hold a tune. I replaced the strings with the D'Addario Classic Nylon set and that allowed the guitar to hold the tune far better. Minor adjustments will need to be made as the nylon streaches. The bridge and the nut are a bit high and may need to be adjusted at a guitar shop depending on personal choice. It comes with a bag that is pretty cheap but will do if it is simply used as a dust cover. If you want to travel with your guitar get a cushioned bag. Overall it is a good beginner guitar at a good price.
