(Disregard the rating. It gets a 5 for functionality but falls flat for other reasons.) I have the 18.5-foot cord and it's great. Great price, and definitely the most reliable cable I've ever had in the way of signal transmission. Too many cords these days start to sound like Rice Krispies after just moderate use, but not this one. I've had mine for a little over 3 years and 8 months and it has yet to make a single sound other than my playing. I feel uneasy using other people's cords cause I know that at any given time I'll lose signal without warning. Not this one. If you're using this cord and you hear any snap, crackle, or pop, it's your guitar. That being said, there is one major drawback. Something that could very well be a deal breaker. If you want to do some recording with this thing, great. If you're sitting down and playing, you're golden. But if you move around at all (and I mean AT ALL) this thing will twist in ways that will defy logic and challenge the laws of physics. It seriously has a mind of its own. I think if you stare at it hard enough, it will start twisting on its own. It's THAT bad. It works great but so often I have to unplug and straighten it out, which is not something I ever want to do -- especially during a show. You decide.

Great cables

By Marshall

from Poteau, Ok

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

I bought 2 of these to use with my guitars. They are fairly light weight, andhave metal ends. They are made well, don't cost a lot, and have a lifetime warranty. That's the main three things I want in a guitar cord. They are also available in 2 or 3 lengths. They work great. I've used other Live Wire products and have always been happy with them.

This is the best cable to connect your amp to an effect ppedal on the floor, use the sraight side to plug in your amp and use the angeled side to plug in your effect pedal and use the double right angle live wire cable that is 6" and your made in the shade! AWSOME sound, best quality, I only use live wire cables!

Great Cable

By Elopez2808

from El Paso, TX

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

This is a great cable. I use it to plug my guitar into my effect pedal. The angled half is great because the wire inside doesn't get all bent out of shape when you put it in your strap. Great sound...it doesn't color your tone much so thats a big plus.

Live Wire = Good Deal

By GuitarMikeF

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

No need to spend the extra for fancy cables. The Live Wire cables do a great job. I'm pretty tough on cables and these last just as long as the more expensive ones.

Get the most out of your equipment!

By Forest

from Atlanta

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

I've had this cable for two weeks, and have nothing but good things to say. At the moment, I'm still playing on starter bass gear, so you can already imagine the issues I have with hissing and buzzing. Before I got this cable, I was using an old monster cable a friend gave me, but within a week the buzzing got worse. From the instant I plugged this in, i noticed something significant: total SILENCE! I am now able to turn this poor little 12W amp to full power without any buzzing. I sometimes even forget the amp is turned on when I'm not playing. I am looking to upgrade all of my equipement this summer, but now I know that I can scratch one thing off the list.

Very clear sounding

By Timmonsfan

from Plano Texas

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

I have tried Monster cables and have a really old (almost vintage) Whirlwind cable and this thing just blows them away. Most people don't listen to their cables. I have noticed that Monster cables actually take away my top end tone and make things less clear. And I like the Eric Johnson sparkling clean tones so Monster just ruins it. But with Livewire cables I get to keep the entire spectrum. So this is great for me. They may not be the sturdiest cables but they have a lifetime warranty so whenever the solder breaks I can just trade as opposed to re soldering it myself. Oh and the price is just awesome. I love these things.

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

The cable works. It's blue. It's long enough. The right-angle plug is good for my Tele. What else is there to say?

Awesome cable!

By Jeff

from York, PA

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

I recently picked up this cable after dealing with one that hissed all the time. Let me say that this is probably the quietest cable I've ever had and I use high gain distortion. If you are looking for a great quality cable that doesn't cause extra noise, pick this up immediately! You won't be disappointed.

Electric Chord

By Shane Smith

from Ridgecrest, Ca

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

Excellent Chord. The L angle on one side fits perfectly into the guitar and doesn't stick out so I don't have to work about it hittig something and breaking something. The other side with it's straight angle plugs easily into the amp. Great chord!! Thanks Delivered Quickly Too!

Too much hum and crackle

By HeadHunter

from Buffalo, NY

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

I picked up one of these with my new bass, on the recommendation of the tech that helped me select my gear. I bough the very bass and amp I had tried at the store because they sounded great. The only difference was the cable. When I got it all home, I was getting some hum and crackling/popping while playing. I am guessing it's electrical interference from an appliance motor, but I've managed to rule out the bass and the amp. I can only assume it's a poorly-shielded cable. It's not a significant issue but it does affect my sound and colors my enjoyment. I'll be shopping for a better cable soon, this one will be relegated to backup duty.

No other Cable...

By The Charles

from North Mississippi

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

No other cable can come close to this one. It's in favor of tight budgets, it works as well as any high-end cable. I use the angled side to plug into my Fender Reverb, because the cable tends to get a permanent bend from hanging if it's straight. I absolutely love these cables, never had a single problem with any of them. The best cable for anyone of all playing levels.

Consistently faulty solder connections

By Daniel Kennedy

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

2 out of 3 cables that I purchased recently were non-functional, shorting out intermittently during use. Incredibly, this was not the first time that I've experienced this failure in a Live Wire cable product, and I kicked myself for trusting this company again. As had been the case in the past, I suspected the failure to originate within the terminal connections at either end the cable. Upon removing the shrink-wrap from the solder joint, I found my hypothesis to be correct - the signal and ground wires had been stripped at exactly the same location, not staggered as one would want them to be, and the two bare wires were literally ENTWINED before reaching the solder joint! Knowing full well that to exchange the cables would only result in another crapshoot, I took it upon myself to re-cut the cable, strip back the wires properly, and re-make the solder connections. I'm going to appeal directly to Live Wire as well, because the world does not need yet another worthless entity pumping consistently poor product into the marketplace. Until they address this quality problem, I would recommend avoiding the purchase of any Live Wire cable products.

Sound so clear and precise..

By Double RL

from Salome, AZ

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Angled - Straight Instrument Cable:

I play an autoharp, as a soloist in a large community center in front of about 300 people, for Sunday Services. I have owned these cables for two weeks and use them 4 times a week. The cable allows the sweetest sounds of my instrument to come through, clear and precise, without any static or buzzing. I keep the angled end of the cable, plugged in my instrument as I often need to lower my chord hand over the cable. In addition to my satisfaction, I often have listeners come up to me and compliment my instrument and it's sound. I bought a 10 ft. cable, and only wish that I would have ordered the 18 ft. cable. The quality of this cable is very professional, and I'm sure it's going to be around for a long, long time. The cost is very reasonable for the quality. The only thing I could improve with the cable, would be it's flexibility. They are flexible, but I like very loose flexibility.
