Overview

LP's original One Shot Shaker was a revolution in shaker design. With its single live striking area, it gave percussionists the ability to play complex rhythms with a precision that was previously impossible with traditional shakers. The LP Finger Shot Shaker scales down that same concept, giving a new definition to the term "hand percussion." Price includes one Finger Shot. Buy two for a fuller effect!

In essence, the Finger Shot is a mini versions of the One Shot Shaker, designed to attach easily to a player's fingers by means of elastic ribbons. Rhythmic patterns can be created simply by moving the hands up and down in the air. The more a Finger Shot is used; the louder and more distinctive the shaker sound.

The Finger Shot is also perfect for adding a subtle nuance to rhythms played on congas, bongos, or a cajon. The miniature size of the Finger Shot lets it make its musical contribution without interfering with the player's drumming technique.

LP Finger shots are just the thing to help fill the void of not having a high pitched rythm sound, like a hi hat, when playing cajon, conga, or djembe in place of a drum set. Like the One Shot, these only play on one surface, the sound eminates at the point of impact when the drum head (or an other surface) is struck. These are small and not very loud, but the sound does cut through in an acoustic environment. Miced, they sound great!. Good feel, fairly comfortable, won't harm drums as the shaker never comes in contact with the head. A word of caution; If you play hard, you may want to pad the back of the Finger shot in order to protect the nuckle side of your fingers.
Fun addition to any percussionists bag o' tricks, or as a stand alone instrument when played in pairs.

Works for hand drumming, But...

These are soft shakers that work well when one's palms are pointed down while playing, i.e. on hand drums. They are almost inaudible when used while holding drum sticks.

May be too faint in volume to use without microphone.

I am pleased that it adds to the snare sound of a cajon. I wear one Finger Shot on each hand. I was somewhat disappointed in that they don't have much volume.

Comments about LP Finger Shot Shaker:

These are a must have, especially for the price. I use them when I play Cajon and am really enjoying them!

The only downside I have run into is that they are not super comfortable after a while when only strapped to one finger and are much more confortable when strapped across two fingers to disperse the force on the back of the fingers when slapping. Having two fingers tied together in this manner can be limiting to certain finger techniques.

Other than that minor detail, I am really enjoying the set I bought!

Comments about LP Finger Shot Shaker:

I play multiple world percussion instruments, mostly the cajon. The only problem is that the cajon is really only bass drum and snare. This item adds a little bit more kick to the instrument, plus it's an amazing price. I recommend.

Comments about LP Finger Shot Shaker:

Really great add on for percussion and it's always in perfect timeing with your playing and virtually any hand drum. Also interesting to use on the picking hand for acoustic guitar, would be great if they made one especially for that as the shape makes it awkard to use in thius manner, see my video for a guitar and djambe demonstration.

                Excellent Sound Addition

                By Ivan Rodriguez

                from Tucson, Arizona

Comments about LP Finger Shot Shaker:

The concept of having this miniature shaker contribute to my small collection of hand percussion was definitely tempting, so I gave it a shot (ba-dum ch). As per the sound and quality of this LP product? Phenomenal! The technology used within even this small shaker is the same as the their bigger One Shot design, only of course more compact. For those unfamiliar with why that's significant, all that means is that there is only one true "live" area. This one side -- the bottom in the case of the Finger Shot -- is not padded, meaning that only this surface will create a distinct "chick" sound as a response to the beads; precision control can be achieved. And that sound is truly unique in itself! It is remarkably piercing, crisp, and high-pitched. The flexible finger strap is very tight and loosens to your finger size over time. The only major drawback? The shape itself. I am unsure if this is simply due to my technique, but achieving slaps on my bongos has become a bit painful with the Finger Shot as it moves around due to the shock and smacks straight into surrounding fingers' joint areas. All I can imagine to remedy this is playing lighter or not involving crackling slaps. In a sentence, this product offers a great sound addition at the expense of having to make a few sacrifices.
