Good idea for one-handed playing. Will be great to use for rolls or quick 16ths. One thing that might be changed is the ability to modify the placement of the guide or ball so that it's easier to play single rhythms. The ball tends to be too close and bounces off the back guide too quickly.
Might be good for rapid sequential beats, but poor for slower, syncopated taps. Hammer doesn't bounce off "triangle" and dampens the tone. It just doesn't ring out with a clear tone. It might work better if it was spring loaded, somehow. I wanted to use it to get the opening beat for THE PINK PANTHER theme. I worked with it for two days to try to acheive that beat and finally returned it.
I modified the product by using some electrical tape on the inside leg on one side of the V in the triangle. It dampens the sound so that it is not so bright. I play a Brasilian style LP soft shaker with one hand and play a triangle groove with the other. I also use some bicycle handle bar tap on the outside to improve my grip.
