LP Mountable Double Sambago Bells have roots that can be traced to Africa and then to the metal agogo bells played throughout Brazil. LP introduced the wooden agogo bell in the 1960s to extend the tonal range of this traditionally metal instrument. The use of high impact plastic in the creation of LP Sambago bells delivers a crisp and consistent sound unlike any existing instrument.
Sambago bells quickly and easily attach to any 3/8"-diameter mounting rod with the included LP eyebolt assembly.
Pitched so that they have complimentary tones—high and low—approximately one minor third apart. LP sambago bells offer brilliant sound combined with bold, colorful looks that make them perfect for professional percussionists yet simple enough for novice musicians.

I have had these for about a year now and i am curently in a band. These sound fantastic on a drum set, i play all different types of genres and they are so original and distinct. they wont crack or get scratched either, great purchase!
I recieved these for my birthday last year, and I was very impressed with the sound. But, when I mounted it on my hihat stand, it slid down after a few pushes on the pedal. I tightened it as tight as it would go, and it still slid down, but not back up. When I tried to unscrew it, it wouldn't budge, so I had to use pliers to pry it off. If it falling down is not an issue, get this. It has a great high pitched pop sound to it and it is very durable. The only reason this is 3 stars is because of the mounting
The LP617 Sambago Bell twins are a great little item to add some spice to your auxilary percussion. They are nicely pitched to complement each other. Tip-hits give a thin "tick-tock" sound, while shaft-hits to the end give a loud and full response.
The lower pitched (pink) bell is pretty close to the pitch of the LP yellow high-pitched LP1305 Blast Block, so that would not be a worthwhile complement to this set, but the low-pitched Green LP Blast Block LP1307 is nicely toned to match this pair. They also sound great with my LP204A Black Beauty cowbell.
The mount is well made and stays tight. It will fit 3/8 rod and extra-thin boom arms, but standard-thickness boom arms will not fit through the hole. This pair typically comes with a mounting clamp and rod. I have found this hardware useful in some setups, but it would be nice to be able to rotate the clamp angle for more flexibility. I am still looking for the best way to mount these to my kit with some other clamp.
All in all these are a great product - and two great sounds for a reasonable price.
